Ravioli Maker
I bought both of the Villaware ravioli makers in casethey were somehow different. So far I have only tried the V5400-0112 square and was pleasently surprised. It works really well! The biggest job now is making the pasts. When making ravioli by hand, the layers didn't stick together well. Thisdoes that beautifully!George Mead

Simplifies Ravioli Making
Before buying this item I cut the raviolis with a pizza cutter, and sealed them with an egg wash, which was fairly ineffectual; without fail a handful would leak and take in water, so that when eating, they would squish pasta water out onto the plate. This mold works well. I did not spray it and I didn't have a problem with the pasta sticking to it. My pasta roller goes to 10, and I tried rolling it to 4,5, and 6. 5 seemed to be the best - the pasta was thick enough to withstand being stretched by the press, but thin enough to avoid being really chewy.I used a small dough scoop to fill the ravioli. Very convenient. The mold sealed all of the raviolis. I made sure to press the roller along each of the individual ravioli edges, then stripped away the excess on the outside and tipped over the plate and gently pulled them loose. Many of them were still attached to each other, but easily pulled apart without becoming unsealed.I would recommend this product. It cut the time in half and was really convenient. Cleans easily, as well.

dough sticks to the form
I'm guessing you need really dry pasta, because it's hard to seperate the pasta from the form without tearing the pasta. I ripped more than I made, so definately will not be using it again. Instead, I'll invest in a pasta cutting wheel.

Great for Ravioli
This has made making ravioli very easy. If you're using a roller, you need to make sure you're not going to the thinest setting (the second to thinnest seems to work great). And also it's probably best to let it sit for a bit before rolling out the dough. When you start rolling flour should be added on the widest setting each time, and the dough folded over...this should help with the dough being too wet. This set was easier to use then I thought it would be, lay one sheet down, indent it, add filling, top sheet down, use the included pin to roll/crimp the raviolis, and then put it boiling water. Delicious.

Good and Easy
This was an easy way to make good ravioli. I tried the KitchenAid ravioli attachment and immediately returned it. I then bought this and tried to make ravioli again and it was so much easier. Very simple and fast way to make good ravioli. Highly recommend it.

V5400-1 Ravioli maker
Great ravioli maker!! every year I make ravioli for Christmas dinner and I used another brand. This year I discovered the V5400 and the time of making them was cut in half! The only problem is the size of the ravioli: I like mine a little smaller, but still a great gadget.
