Wow! - mild spoiler
I've never been a comic book/graphic book/Manga reader but I love this book. I love imagining the cats and the environments when I read her main books so seeing them in this way is so amazing. The story of nightpelt is not exactly what I pictured but it was great knowing his background before fireheart and thunder clan helped him, so even though I knew the ending I never found my desire to read waiver. The only thing I wish was different was the binding. I wish the binding was looser, almost like spiral bound but not spiral bound because that would look wierd, but I wish I could open the book more because the pictures near the binding get a little distorted.

Amazing Book
I ordered this book along with the other graphic novels and it arrived early. It is a colorful book with about 200 pages about the story of the ShadowClan elders trying to survive their exile from ShadowClan, with the protagonist being Nightpelt. The read was fun and I enjoyed this book. Definitely worth it. Recommend.

The Prophecies Begin Graphic Novel
I absolutely love this graphic novel! It's great how we got content from the first arc, especially from a Shadowclan POV. It follows Nightpelt's (soon to be Nightstar's (in another book)) thoughts on the exile and the battle that evicts Brokenstar and a few of his followers. If you just finished (re-)reading Into the Wild, or at least read it once, I would highly recommend getting this graphic novel if you weren't already ordering it as it is basically explaining the same plot. I won't spoil it, but I can say it gets suspenseful sometimes especially when we're looking in the eyes of a cat who is determined to make his clan better and "take back its rightful place in the forest" after the battle.I would, again, recommend reading this, and I hope we can get more books/novellas of the first few arcs along with the one (aka A Starless Clan).

Excellent read for 4th grade up to middle schoolers.
The book is easy to read because it is a graphic novel. The story line is engaging and interesting even in it’s novel form. I highly recommend these novels.

Great Book, Interesting Quality
I loved this book. He retires to the elders den early because of his asthma, even though he is a young warrior and is then tossed out of the camp by Brokenstar along with all the other elders. You easily see Nightpelt's struggle with his trust of Brokenstar and his uncertainty for his brother. There is one scene (SPOILERS) where a fox kills an elder before Nightpelt can get to it and you see the elder screech and blood specks in front of the fox. The fox then comes up and has blood on its teeth and bits of its maw. I do not recommend getting this for anyone under 7-8 years old, just because of that scene. A few bits of talking about kits dying and grieving mothers. You also see a rat fight with kits and they get hurt. Overall, I would say that this book is a great book. The downside is the fact that some of my pages felt grainy. I don't know the reason. It could be because of the type of ink, paper, etc. I didn't experience this when using another company* to buy 'A Shadow in Riverclan'. I could have also not noticed, but in any case, it was on the book I have. I didn't find it very enjoyable, but I believe that you should still buy the book, as it is definitely worth the money and graininess.*I used Barnes and Noble to buy the book.

Welcome edition to the series cannon
It's been a long time since the authors wrote the first arc and left so much unsaid. Brokenstar's leadership wasn't as fleshed out as it should have been during Yellowfangs secret but this side of the story through Nightpelts eyes is great. I definitely felt the iron grip of a bad leader and the fear of a clan who is supposed to follow him unquestionably.I still have a gripe with how Starclan refused to give Nightpelt 9 lives, their reasoning is weak and the fact that only Raggedstar showed up to tell Nightpelt is insulting. However, Shadowclan is known for its stubbornness so maybe that is what the writers were going for.Overall, I liked it and am excited for more side stories like this.
