Will this be ideal on our 24v power vessel to supply the 12v led lights, sound system, vhf etc? or too powerful

That is the purpose of a device like this. 70Amps is just the max it can output. The output is variable based on the live load. Hopefully that helps.

Are there any issues charging a 24v lifepo4 to a 12v lifepo4 with this charger?

I use the Orion 24/12-25 to bulk charge my 12.8 volt nominal LiFePO4 battery bank from my other 25.6 volt nominal LiFePO4 battery as a supplement to the MPPT Solar Charge Controllers with good results

This unit is listed as 70 amps, is that for the output (12volts)?

Yes, that is the full load rating for the 12VDC output

One reviewer states having issues charging 24v batteries from an alternator with the 12/24 model. Can this be safely and effectively done?

This is not the right device for that.

Super einfach zu installieren. Funktioniert. Die Anschlüsse sind leider ungeschützt. Je nach Einbauort muss man diese noch Abdecken.

Nice unit and I use it on a lithium battery. That is a backup to my portable solar charger. I plug this into my solar port for extra battery storage.
