I was unsure if I would like these because the handle is hard plastic, but I was pleasantly surprised. Very comfortable to hold. Recommend these for anyone who has carpal tunnel or arthritis in their hands or wrist.

The hard, slippery plastic makes these really hard to use without hurting my hands and fingers even more than they already do.

The shape of the handle is perfect for wrist pain, but the metal used for the hook is awful. It has a matte appearance and I think that somehow contributes to the yarn not easily sliding on the metal. I tried acrylic yarn and cotton yarn and even some chenille, but I could never get my stride because it just simply doesn’t slide well. I never dreamed this could be an issue, but it makes them unusable. Yuck.

I had great hopes for these, but when I tried them, it felt as if there was a roughish coating on the metal which made crocheting slow and sluggish. The wool did not move smoothly over the hook and hindered simple and easy crocheting. I felt I was constantly having to look down at my work and I only tried the largish hook for a few moments.
