Look no further at this price point!
This is my second RO-PH90 system. Simply one of the best systems on the market, in my opinion. Uses genuine Dow filmtec reverse osmosis membrane. As anyone familiar with RO knows, filmtec membranes are the gold standard and rank among the elite in rejection rates. This is not your generic RO bought in a hardware store, although some large chains carry it. Input TDS = ~225 ppm, output TDS = ~15-20ppm. Does the job. Have not tested PH yet. Water tastes great as it does with my first system. Change your pre filters once per year or at the recommended %TDS interval and expect this RO membrane to last its full schedule of 3-5 years. This is very important. Incoming water pressure must be at least 50psi in my opinion, for this system to operate as intended. At 75psi, outgoing pressure is like a dream, even with 1/4'' stock tubing. Fills glasses quickly. Consider the 3/8" output upgrade if your input pressure hovers at 50psi as it did with my first unit. RO systems thrive on incoming water pressure, this is the most important aspect of setup! Do not skip!Simple setup as usual, although this time I needed a booster pump, incoming was 40psi at best. Remember, it can fluctuate significantly during high demand/peak times. Plan a few hours for someone not so mechanically inclined. John Guest quick connect fittings are painless. Manual is very thorough, follow each step carefully and no problems should arise. If they do, customer support is USA based and very helpful. Download and read the manual available on their website before purchasing so you know what items and skill level are required. Anyone with a few tools and willful attitude will have zero problems.Easily found an Aquatec CDP6800 kit on Ebay for $108 that is perfect for this system. Came with all needed lines, pressure gauge, shutoff solenoid, pressure switch, pump and transformer. Make sure to have a sediment filter before the pump if you want it to last. Of course, APEC also offers a version pre outfitted with either permeate or booster pump although you will need your own gauge I believe. If planning on wanting 3/8" output upgrade for PH model, please go directly though APEC to purchase with it pre installed. Do not buy the output kit here on Amazon and expect it to fit the PH filter on your unit, it will not. It is for 5 stage only. You would then have to buy a 3/8" PH filter from APEC, about $40. Save yourself some time and money going directly through APEC for the upgrade route. Not much else to say, please READ the manual and you will not have to think about this system but a few times a year for TDS tests and scheduled filter changes. Good luck!

Great product! High quality components. Can be installed without the tank.
Great product! Very high quality components. Easy to install. Great customer service. My local municipal water has TDS around 330. The filtered water comes out around 10 and tastes great!I am using the system without the tank. You can do this by modify the tubing and connect the filtered output of the ro-membrane to the 5th stage filter directly (bypass/remove the T that feeds the tank and the 5th stage filter, very easy with quick connect used on the APEC system). I use glass pitchers to hold the water. It takes about 5 minutes for the RO-90 to fill up a 2-quart ikea glass pitcher (half gallon). Why would you want to use the system without the tank? To get the best tasting water and not have to worry about whether the tank material is safe or not. For the RO tank to work, the water has to be held inside a bladder in the tank, so that the air pressure around the bladder can push the water out when you need it. For this to work, the bladder has to be a flexible material that can expand and shrink as needed. The type of food grade material that is suitable for this purpose is limited. The material being used is polypropylene and butyl. Now, while this should be a safe material to use, it does add an after taste to the water, especially if the water has been sitting in the tank for a while. That's why there's a 5th stage carbon filter, to filter out the tank taste. But having an after taste that needs to be filtered out does imply that the tank material affects the water. If you don't believe me, just read the Watts RO system reviews on amazon. Many are complaining about plastic water taste. The bladder also ages, and has an expected life of 8-10 years due to all the expansion and contraction. While I am sure the tank material used by APEC is better than the one in the Watts system, why get yourself into this situation at all? Just bypass the tank and store the filtered water in a glass pitcher. Glass is arguably the best material on earth to hold purified drinking water, and will not leach into or affect the water taste in any way.Bypassing the tank also allows you to have explicitly control over when to produce the filtered water. Tap water is generally better quality in the evening when everyone around is also using water. It is less good in the morning when the water has been sitting idle in aging pipes for hours. This is why when your local municipal utility conducts water tests, they usually flush out the water for a few minutes. My TDS test confirms this. Filtered water in late evening has TDS less than 10, while in early morning is around 20-25.I did contact APEC system and was very impressed by their customer support.

Great value!
If you are looking for good value and great quality - you found what you are looking for. We bought this system after ours broke right after moving to our new home. This system was easy to install (we did it ourselves and saved a lot of money compared to the $6k quote we got from the water company). It’s compact as compared to our old system, and it works great to support our 3 bathrooms and all appliances. The osmosis system produces great tasting water (we have a well) and it truly takes away the taste of iron.
