A gripping series with interesting characters, perilous situations, arm twisting negotiations, and government double dealing. It also shows the human side of the main characters. It is as engrossing as any spy thriller.

DVD's from the UK
The DVD's from England (UK) do not work on DVD players in the USA. I tried to view on 2 different players with no luck. Something to do with code. I checked the back of my DVD player and did not see any info about codes. So I am sending back the DVD's. In the future will only buy DVD's made in the USA.

Excellent Series
Excellent series about the State Dept in Washington. However, it is definitely leans left. Show work and family life of a female Secretary of State and her family. Note dvds are region 2 PAL.

Packaging damaged disks
The order we placed never arrived, so I’m reviewing a gift we received from friends. It’s the same product we ordered originally. Madam Secretary the series is wonderful, but this particular set is badly packaged. The disks are packed and stacked into a small container, guaranteeing that some or all will be damaged over time. There’s no way to keep them organized, so every viewing involves pulling out and shuffling multiple disks to get the one we want. We love the show but we would not knowingly purchase this particular box set.

Doesn't play on normal US DVD players
Doesn't play on normal US DVD players. I needed to buy a Megatek DVD player on Amazon... about $30. I think the format is European. It is the real Madam Secretary - high quality video. With normal DVDs it is quite clear when the show is over. Because each disk contains many episodes the disk's end is less clear. You may need re-watch a portion before going to the next disk. Removing the disks from the box in chronological order could be much easier with a re-designed box. I think there are 27 disks in each box.

Buyer beware
I waited over a month to receive this and once it arrived from China it would not play and I had to pay the shipping cost to return it.
