I Killed Zoe Spanos

Fairly decent thriller
I started reading 'I Killed Zoe Spanos' at a time when I had finished a long fantasy series and needed a break. It is important to understand my headspace when I was reading this one. After 2000+ pages of ACOTAR (I am in ❤️), I don't think reading a thriller was the best thing, but I did it anyway because I am crazy.TitleI love analyzing titles though I do agree we should not judge a book by it's cover. I do it anyways. When a thriller is titled 'I Killed Zoe Spanos', it makes it interesting. I thought there was a direct implication that the MC did it so I dove in. 🏊🏻♀️What made this book decent? This was not a bad book, at all. The writing is great, and Kit has done a great job with the characters. Anna in particular has been done really well. I could feel her emotions and feelings and all of that helplessness. I however, related more with Martina than I have in a long time to any fictional character.Typically, when we switch between the past and present, I normally feel all over the place specially because I am a very fast reader, but I kept up well. There is mystery and intrigue and all of those things that I would eat up on my worst days.Well, if it was this good, why did I give it only ⭐️⭐️⭐️?I always expect an over-the-top climax that makes me go - NO! and then curse myself for not guessing it. I did not get it in this book and in thrillers that is enough to take away one star.Secondly, there were definitely some strings left untied. All those blackouts, that were somehow just left. I was left wanting more. Better motives, better villains, and in all a better end.Parting words?Would I recommend this book to people?Yes. If you are getting into this genre, this is a light read. Took me about 5 hours to get through and I didn't take any breaks so it was unputdownable.Would I read something by Kit again?Maybe. I want to read something else to experience the same clear and no nonsense writing style.I think I've read brilliant thrillers and have too high an expectation but I won't deny that this was a refreshing read. Please comment if you have any suggestions for any other book by Kit I should try or if you disagree. I always love me a debate.

Like a YA version of The Usual Suspects
I love this book with my full heart and soul! Lots of people have mentioned that there are many twists and turns in this book, but let me be another one of those voices-there are many twists and turns! And they all feel earned. None of them are cheap and they fit snuggly in the narrative that is being told here, right up to the very end. Oh, and speaking of that ending. I seriously got a Usual Suspects vibe when I came to the last few pages. I'm not really into mysteries, but this one definitely kept me engaged and interested all the way through. Read this book!

Great twist
I found the beginning a little slow to get into, but the pace soon picked up. It’s definitely a page-turner that kept me wanting to find out more. The twist right at the end was unexpected. Really enjoyed it and would recommend

Twisty fun
The mysteries surrounding the main character and the titular victim congeal nicely into a satisfying tale set among the tony set in the Hamptons. While some leaps of faith are required to accept the coincidences and memories from the protagonist’s life, there’s enough suspense and character development to overlook those minor weaknesses. Overall, this is an enjoyable escape into a world most never see.

Twisty Tension And Suspense!
Was this really the YA Rebecca? No, not really. But was it really good? Yes. Plenty of tension and suspense, tightly written, with damaged characters who wanted to redeem themselves, this book had all the mystery! There were so many different directions it could have gone that it really was unpredictable. I really enjoyed it!
