Upgraded model! Adds CleanEdge
The new version of the Shark AI Ultra Xl swaps out one side brush for the new CleanEdge blower. You can recognize the new version by the two light gray sections on each side of the vac, just behind the front bumper (see pictures). Most of vendor sites and YouTube reviews have not caught up to this new feature addition. Indeed, Shark has not done a great job getting the word out about and the new feature doesn’t even really jump out at you on the box art if you don’t know what you are looking for. When I first opened the box to unpack the vac I was initially disappointed to see only one side brush and that the motor attachment for the right side brush was now gone. My initial reaction was that Shark pulled a fast one and cut corners after the vac received so many good reviews. But that does not appear to be the case. Instead they replaced the right side brush with a blower to blast dirt away from walls and corners where side brushes can’t otherwise reach. Indeed, side brushes a notorious for pushing debris into edges and corners (hockey stick effect). They call the blower CleanEdge and you can find info about it on the box if you look closely enough. But again, many vendor sites and video reviews still show the old model with two side brushes and no blower. The CleanEdge does seems to work pretty good on hard floors, which I have a lot more of than carpet. So this is a bonus for me. I’m not sure if it’s as ideal as having two side brushes for people with a lot of carpet. Time will tell. I am sure some will ask why they didn’t keep both side brushes and add the CleanEdge blower, but I suspect the answer is a combination of cost control (not increasing price) and battery life. Dropping one side brush also probably doesn’t affect performance much, and may even improve it a bit depending on your needs. Programming just alters how the vac approaches edges to ensure a the side brush is always facing the right direction. And as I mention above, side brushes can hockey sticke debris into edges and corners a robot vac can’t reach. Adding an edge blower is a better way to counter that hockey stick problem than just adding more hockey sticks. Anyhow, I wanted to post that I am happy with the upgraded model for my needs. However, depending on what you prefer (second side brush, or edge blower), you might need to do some added digging on vendor sites to see which model they are now shipping.

Technology in this robot is awesome - I am thrilled
I bought this unit after over analyzing and research due to mixed reviews. Have owned Roomba for years. I am elated with this unit. I had zero problems with set up which was a concern with the wi-fi in a condo. I ran it first without mapping. The mapping honestly was amazing. The condo has bedrooms on opposite ends plus a sitting area plus half bath at entry. It got it right the first time. The floor is all marble with lots of rugs. The first time it ran was mostly on the rug, then went and dumped itself, and proceeded to run again. I have a dog that sheds a lot. Pros: Not noisy compared to Roomba except to dump which takes seconds. Great suction and manages several rug heights. Technology for mapping, covering the floor in total even with restarts, and emptying itself is fabulous. No bags required. See below on the cons - was able to set that area as a no-go zone and still do the master. For mapping, was able to easily merge areas that were not square or rectangle, or odd shapes to label as the family room. Cons: I have a high shag rug in the master that the twirly thing got hung around. It maybe just because it was first run and kept turning but I don’t plan to use it on that rug. Cannot schedule by room at this time. For now, I just start the family room when I go to bed. It takes a recharge to finish it but that is ok since it is at night. Battery will only go to 40% and it takes it back to recharge. I have not found where you can reduce.

Hope I can get a full refund- Worst ever Customer service, great Vacuum that never works!
1 Star for very poor Customer Service. That in a nutshell, was my problem, or more importantly, that was Shark Ninja's worst ever problem for me. So I have been through 3 Shark Robot AI Robots in about 3 months. When it worked, it that wa seldom, it did a fantastic job. And then suddenly would not return to the dock. Since I registered it wit a warranty, Shark sent me a new dock/dust bin. That worked for abot 3 days and I sent it back through Amazon. I bought a second one and it failed as well. Returned through Amazon. Like a fool I bought a 3rd one, and it sat on the floor, brand new, because my connection and password for the App would not work.. No one should have to wait 2 weeks for a call back from the Shark Ninja tech department for help. I even called every day and set up appointments for a phone call and Shark never honored the appointments. I just could not log on to the App. Their internet site was also constantly "under maintenance" so I could not even reset my password. Well, I returned it through Amazon as brand new never used. I also had, as expected, language issues when speaking with their foreign agents in customer service. Constantly repeating myself and having to phoenetically spell out each word for them is a huge waste of my time. I was very disappointed in the Shark Robot AI performance in the long run and do not recommend it to anyone. I have purchased a reliable and a bit more expensive and "no problem" Roborock Q5+ vacuum. You should too. Caveat Emptor.

Consuela Needs More Lemon Pledge
We named her Consuela. She needed to fully re-boot at least once before actually going and learning the house; make sure you re-start the App at least once before doing the "getting started" steps. She does a good job getting dust and staying away from stairs. You can customize the cleaning areas very finely. She does not do well with dog hair; we have one heavy and one medium shedder, she gets clogged up and needs to be emptied by hand pretty regularly. Our upper floor is 1300 sq ft total, she's probably able to access about 75% of it and she is almost out of battery by the end. If you have a bigger house, she will need to stop to charge. She gets our house done in about an hour and 15 minutes. Carpets are challenging unless you tell her to deep clean an area. Overall very satisfied, she saves us a lot of time sweeping and our air smells cleaner.

You need this if you have animals
Purchased on a black Friday deal and have no regrets. I have 3 dogs and 2 cats and this has been amazing at helping me to keep up with the fur trails in the house. We have hardwood and tile throughout with a couple of area rugs. I previously had an older model Shark that just bounced around everything. It did ok, but missed a lot. I didn't realize how much it missed until I started using the new one. Set up and operation is fairly easy. There is a little bit of a learning curve with the app set up and marking your rooms, but once I figured out I could zoom in, that helped. I can't believe how much more surface area this robot picks up compared to the old model. The robot vacuums around the perimeter and then vacuums like it's completing a strip and grid search in your room. It will empty itself if it gets full and will even re-charge and re-start if it needs a little robot nap. The self-emptying feature is pretty cool, so you don't have to empty each day. I especially enjoy the ability to spot clean an area or only certain rooms. You don't realize how convenient until you use it! We have had to clean the roller out about once a week for some wrapped up hair, but that is to be expected and is very easy to open the flap and take out the hair. Don't forget to check your filters as well, as it's easy to forget with the self-emptying function (out of sight/out of mind). Overall, worth the price for the extra help around the house. It is definitely earning its keep.

Really like this vacuum
This is the second robat vacuum we have owned and while the other one was good, we really like this one better. A large part of that is the self-empying feature which means you only have to empty it about once a week. The vacuum is very efficient and on medium suction it cleans our 1500 square foot house without needing to recharge. The vacuum is quieter than our previous one and it cleans better. There are a couple of things that I would change but they are minor and I am kind of nit=picking. 1. If you set it to empty and recharge it will not finish cleaning until it is completely recharged even if there is very little left to clean. 2. The cleaning map will show you what was cleaned but only after it is complete. You cannot see what has or hasn't been done while the vacuum is working. 3. You can't set the sequence. It would be nice to be able to get certain rooms done before others. 4. The map should show the location of the vacuum. If the vacuum has an issue, if the location was shown on the map it would be easy to find. Walking around listening for it works but the map would be better. This is a really good vacuum and we like it a lot. The things I would change are VERY minor and do not affect the cleaning capability of the vacuum which is great.

Reliable worker
We picked up most objects we'd move around the house, told the robot to map the house, and profit every time it runs. This thing reliably navigates our house and most obstacles every day. We have carpet and tile, and it seems to do fine vacuuming both even though we have it set to normal vacuum power. Speaking of power, it seems much quieter and more effective than it's (more expensive) competitors of its generation. Again, we use normal vacuum power, not max, because it is quieter and more effective than our experiences with Roborock S5, iRobot Roomba with the double rollers and camera, and others. We really like the thing. It picks up plenty of dust, dirt, fur and hair every day. The self-empty feature is so helpful for any floor larger than a couple decent sized rooms. I'm quite impressed with it's navigation. When I pick it up to move it out of my office before a meeting, I press the clean button and close the door, and it seems to determine it's location in the house within a few seconds. We tried many more expensive robots and found them lacking for what we want--reliable, no cameras, easy to maintain. This little thing does the job and does it well. Impressive machine.

Best I've found for pet hair (but with one big issue, see update at bottom)
Purchased the Shark RV2502AE AI Ultra Robot Self-Empty Vacuum a couple of months ago and waited for some experience before reviewing. We've had a couple of other robot vacuums over the years, and none of them could handle pet hair like this one. I don't understand why it is better, but it just doesn't get tangled up like the others -- and when there is a tangle it's easy to clear. For the most part, I'm extremely pleased. Just two minor issues, but neither stop me from recommending this item: 1) Our vacuum arrived with a bad battery that would not take a charge. Shark customer service seemed extremely helpful and accommodating and promised me a replacement battery by mail right away ... but I never heard from them again and never received any such item. I bought my own replacement battery because I did not want the delay and hassle of an exchange, and it's been great ever since. 2) Our vacuum absolutely does not follow the restricted area that I put in the app to keep it away from a stairway. I've tried multiple times, and it simply does not work. The unit seems to be very adept at recognizing and avoiding falls ... 99% of the time. Ours took one tumble down stairs, which was concerning -- but took zero damage and kept working like a charm ... although I did have to patch some drywall where it hit the wall at the bottom of the stairs! All told, I'm very impressed by this vacuum. It works very well. Suction is good, the app mostly works great, and it holds weeks of debris before needing to be emptied. I have not experienced a better robot vacuum. UPDATE: Well, just after this review our vacuum launched itself down the stairs again. This in spite of the product allegedly being designed to void such dropoffs and my setting a "No Go Zone" in a wide box around our stairs. You can't trust the stair/dropoff sensor and the app settings to keep this vacuum out of areas in your house simply does not work (a problem I've not had with competitor products). It's still the best robot vacuum I've ever owned in regard to pet hair, and it's tough (fallen down a full stairway twice without breaking). My workaround was to block the landing leading to our stairs and re-scan the entire floor of our house to start the setup over, which seems to work ... but now our landing is skipped when the vacuum cleans the rest of our house. Still worthwhile, in my opinion, but buyer be warned.

Great all round performance.
Much better than my roombas. Would happily buy again. Had for a while now and not had any issues or headaches. Roomba's were always getting stuck - This one doesn't. Ended up buying 2.

Great Product and Great Company
I contacted the company with a question about the shipping of the vacuum and they responded to me very quickly, within an hour. They answered my question and resolved my issue quickly and easily! Great company! I had no issues at all with the vacuum itself.

Would not stay connected to wifi
After each cleaning run, it would go back to the base and disconnect from the wifi after emptying the bin. No amount of resets would solve this problem. Vacuum had to be rebooted for it to reconnect to wifi. Found it unfortunate that the app would only let you schedule a whole house clean and not let you schedule a particular set of rooms if you wanted. Did a good job mapping and the no go zones were accurate.

Meilleure machine
