Naniwa 1,000 Grit Super Ceramic Water Stone with a Base (Japan Import)

Was in two minds on whether buy this as I was using the cheaper stones I purchased from Amazon.. The biggest difference is that the burr is achieved very quickly and you can maintain the edge angle more reliably due to this.. sharpening took half the time.. very smooth stone..

Que vous soyez débutant ou confirmé, cette pierre est incroyable. J'ai débuté, appris et aiguisé beaucoup de couteaux sur des pierres correctes et j'ai passé le pas. Je ne le regrette pas une seule seconde. Si vous êtes sérieux sur l'affûtage et l'entretien de vos couteaux, c'est un go direct sans aucune hésitation. Uniquement avec cette pierre et le strope Naniwa associée, j'ai des tranchants rasoir comme jamais je n'ai eu.

Excellent stone, much harder and more resistive to gouging compared to the Naniwa Superstones. It cuts quite fast, but compared to the cheap 1000 grit synthetic stones you can find on Amazon, this is more like a polishing/finishing or even honing stone - zero risk of scratching. They are pricey, but these stones are so much better than every other stone type I have, I won't ever buy anything else. Plus the chosera stones are so large and deep, I'm sure my kids will be inheriting my collection after I die, still with many good years left in them. In the Chosera line, I have this stone, and a 5000 grit, and plan to add a 400 and 10K (when my 12K Superstone gets too dented to use), plus maybe a 3000 and a 16K later on.

This 1K Chosera is the best 1K on the market. I use it to set the bevel on my straight razors and have bought several 1K bevel stones in the past. I wish I had saved my money and just bought a Chosera at the beginning. New Chosera's are now called Professional Stones. This one is unusual as it is the full thickness but mounted on a stand, usually only thin stones are on a stand, it also comes with the Dressing stone which can ether be used just to dress the Chosera or as a slurry stone to turbo charge the cutting power of the Chosera for heavy lifting on damged edges. To summarize, the 1K Chosera is fast, smooth, leaves very shallow scratches and is the only bevel setter I will ever need
