SKLZPro Mini Hoop 5-Inch Foam Basketball

We bought this ball for our son who plays on his mini-hoop every day. His Nerf mini ball was falling apart after years of practicing slam dunks. This one is a perfect substitution. Same size and consistency as the Nerf version, excellent price, and my son thinks the colors make it “look cool.” We are very satisfied with this purchase.

This is the perfect basketball to go with the SKLZ Pro Mini Basketball Hoop. This hoop is a popular toy in our house, even after having it for a few years. The other SKLZ inflatable balls that we have purchased are almost too heavy to play in our house, since the heavier balls can knock things over such as lamp shades and pictures, which cause the basketball commissioner (wife/mom) to cancel the game.This ball bounces very well, even on carpet. Although it it doesn't bounce as well as the heavier inflatable kind; it is still a very good bounce. It is softer and lighter weight than the basketball that came with the hoop or other inflatable balls sold by SKLZ. But it's not too soft or too light, which is great. Because if it was too soft and light, it would be more difficult to make those long range 3 point shots.I purchased and used about 3 or 4 different kinds of balls for this hoop and this is by far the best one I have found. I plan to buy more later. We like to play blackout basketball, which requires several balls.

I switched from 3 different 4" Nerf foam basketballs to these as the Nerf brand do disintegrate over time. First the surface cracks, then peels, then foam spunge dries out and remnants come off. Not good.Other reviewers say that these balls don't have the same feel as a real ball as the surface is fairly smooth and slippery compared to a real leather or rubber ball. I have purchased 3 of these and removed the outer wrap on one. I suggest leaving the wrap on if you can stand the sharp edges of the wrap when you dribble. Leaving it on improved my accuracy as there is no slippery release as the one without. For some reason the balls bounce higher with it on as well, though indoor play dribbling is louder and sharper, think snapping a belt kind of loud.I have used the opened one for primary play indoors and have had no issues with the surface peeling, drying out or cracking after a full 2 months of heavy use.I only wish they packaged this ball with the SKLZ hoop as well as the hard outdoor ball.

Good Product

I was looking for a small ball to fit my mini rim. This was it!!! Fits perfectly. It’s not completely silent when you bounce it but it’s definitely more silent than a regular basketball because this one is made of a more spongy material.

Bought a few of these for my son for his indoor mini hoop. He had a no-name brand before, which did not last long. The Skilz brand ball does seem to be lasting a bit longer. These are much quieter in the house than other balls, such as the blow-up type, and I don't worry as much about them breaking things - although they still can, of course.They are foam balls though, so they don't last as long as you would hope. Eventually, they will start to peel and crack. Still, better than the no name brand!

The Red and Blue starts peeling off too quick. The orange one not as bad. The Silver and Black is the best so far. Me and my kid play with these a lot.

We have a Skillz mini basketball hoop that our son uses regularly. The previous ball had a bite mark from one of our dogs, so it was time for a replacement. This new ball works great and bounces decently. It seems to be of good quality, and we've had it for about a month now with no issues. As long as our dogs don't take another bite out of it, we expect it to last a long time. We are happy with our purchase.
