Brilliant
I’m a nerd, and do nerdy things, like add a Speedo to my golf cart. This was super simple to install with the proper hole saw, and then tighten into place with the supplied ring on the back. The gps is solid, even when the antenna was just inside the dash on the cart it worked. I ended up mounting it to the roof to get a faster connection, but nonetheless it works great, the screen is bright and easy to read, and it’s very accurate. I tested its speed reading against a garmin gps and it was spot on.

Slick, quick solution for any vehicle needing a speedometer
I ordered this because of the large size and 2-wire installation. The added voltage gauge and compass features were a bonus, I installed this on an older UTV and it works great. Checked the accuracy against my phone and paced with my pickup, the reading is dead on. For the price, the gauge is amazing and easy to read in most all light conditions. Even in bright, direct sunlight it's still very readable. Highly recommended!

works as expected
lots of reviews say that you can't see it in daylight, you can absolutely see it. if you are staring at this while piloting a boat then you are doing it wrong. Install was very easy and it connects to gps quickly.

Not super bright but you can still see it in broad daylight.
This is a great unit for a very low price. Yes, it's not super bright, but those claiming you can't read it in daylight are lying or blind. It's still usable in full daylight.

Difficult to see the readout in Daylight.
You cannot see the readout in daylight, especially on a sunny day and it doesn't have any way to brighten it up. * The trip meter clears automatically when the power is turned off :(

Works / fits in a military hmmwv or something.
I needed an easy fix for a m998 humvee, but I got lazy and instead of fighting with a speedo cable and tracking down second hand worn out surplus NOS and found this. It was the correct size for the dash so no crazy modifications, supported 24 VDC out of the box and appears to be hermetically sealed. Ideally in thought about prying the thing apart to paint the bezel plate and trim to the marching CARC green, but went ahead with the install anyhow. The display has a fast refresh rate and the brightness is great. Gps RX antenna has a stainless steel bracket and is small enough to mount about anywhere with sufficient coax lead length. MPH accuracy is faster than a standard mechanical gauge and it’s handy to have a compass for funnies. Next test is shock and vibe, and since this truck rides like a dozer driving over bowling balls I suspect any issues will appear fairly quick. Final thoughts are, if it works in a militarized environment / platform it’s probably gonna be fine in your kayak, push mower, home built v2 rocket or what ever. The bonus is not having to buy shady parts from and creepy military surplus dealers and then have to watch you’re back for 72 hours.

2006 Pioneer 197 Sportfish boat
EDITING MY REVIEW. I originally gave it 5 stars but have lowered that to 3 stars. After testing on the water it worked great and liked all the features. However like others have said it is VERY hard to read during the day with sun. My suggestion is to make the brightness adjustable or include a sunshade that people have the option of using. One reviewer did a diy sunshade. I still like it but the glare/dim in sunlight is definitely an issue. NEW EDIT: I found a sun shade on Ebay for $18 so hopefully this helps the glare. (Original review.) Hooking up was fairly straight forward, find the positive that comes on when ignition is turned on and then a negative/ground. Then hook up the gps antenna. Worked great on my boat and no more paddle wheel speedo that never works correctly. Looks sleek and modern. I'll report back after some actual usage.

Works quite well, including distance, something my old boat speedo couldn't even dream of doing
Works way better than the old pitot or "flipper" type boat speedometers. Solved my problem completely and quite economically.
