The attack is much sharper than plastic picks. Out of the box, they probably won't fit perfectly, but because they are stainless steel, you can squeeze and mould them to fit your fingers. It took me about 5 minutes of bending them to get a snug fit that didn't pinch, but once they are set, they stay put.
