This information is first impressions after unpacking and installing it to my network and computers. It is fairly heavy so getting it out of the box can be interesting if your back has problems. Once I got it into the computer room and removed the plastic, I noticed Canon packaging loves orange tape. After removing all of the tape and small pieces of foam, I got it placed on the table. I did actually read the instructions, but really didn't need to. I used the wired network, so I plugged in the power and network cable and turned on the power. I just answered the questions on the screen and it hooked up to my network. Next was the print driver and scanner driver download. Canon's site is a little difficult, but the drivers are easy to find. After download and installing the drivers with crossed fingers, in Windows10, it worked perfectly. Printing is very quick and very clear. The display is bright amd clear and different functions are easy to find. I am very pleased with the install and ease of use. I will update after further use.

So this is my return back to Canon. I had a wireless laser Canon for about a year before it stopped printing. Which I wasn't happy about considering the price. It wasn't just some cheap inkjet printer. I have high expectations. So I changed over to Brother. Well it was only a week before that one went back to where it wasn't printing. Now here I am back to Canon. Was easy setup for what I have setup so far on it. It has a lot of options. Prints when I want even in sleep mode. Found it pretty cool I can put something on the ADF and control it from my phone and receive the scan on my phone. That's also with the app Canon Business. Not really a fan of it being white, would be much better in black. But it's a small sacrifice for a printer that will actually work. So we'll see how it goes. Hoping it'll last at least a few years. Will update if any problems arise. ****update When using the wireless function it no longer comes out of sleep. You have to manually wake it. Very disappointing. My new rating reflects it. ****Final Update It now won't print from my phone and that's the main reason I use it. So it's practically useless!

Canon MF455DW Hardware – Five stars. The printer itself is excellent and a great value. Manual – One star. Useless. Just Google and watch YouTube videos. Touch Screen – average – three stars. More said later. Windows software/driver – average. Three stars. Very few adjustments in the Windows Print dialog box. Overall four stars. Summary of the Good: The MF455DW prints very fast. Prints and scans double sided. The document feeder scans both sides of a page at the same time which cab speed up scanning/copying/faxing. It can print from / scan to a USB drive. At 250 pages in the main paper tray it holds a decent amount of paper. Built in Fax for those that still need such. Connects via USB, Ethernet or WiFi. The Canon print app for a smart phone makes it easy to print from your smartphone. You can set the app up to control the printer from your smartphone. Print/copy quality is excellent. Summary of the not so good: The manual is hundreds of pages of useless. The touch screen isn’t as sensitive along the edges as one would want. Worse is the actual menu. Things like printing lighter or darker can’t be accessed from the print dialog on a computer AND are buried deep into the menu settings of the touch screen. Copy settings are however thankfully right there when you press the copy button. Also buried deep in the menu settings are things like default tray selection. My own experience: Early on, I thought I would have to return the printer. It came set up wanting to print from the pass through instead of the main 250 page tray. Took me an hour to find the settings to fix this and truth be told I’m not sure what I did.. It was in the “menu” settings and I think I just turned off the pass thru. I doubt I’ll ever use it. Getting it to print two sided was also a challenge. . The first dozen attempts gave me two pages each time instead of two sided prints. Rather odd was that the printer arrived with the “Genuine Canon” (for cartridges) turned off. Which is what you want it to be to use generic replacement print cartridges. Other thoughts: Canon’s genuine print cartridges seem vastly overpriced at $190 for the high capacity (10,000 pages at 5%) or $130 for standard (3,500 pages). You can buy generic at 1/10 of that. Generics work fine. Turn of “genuine Canon” and all you have to do is touch the “Done” button (the only button) at the message that initially pops up saying the cartridge might be counterfeit. The printer connects via WiFi, USB or Ethernet. You cannot use both WiFi and Ethernet. You can use both USB and WiFi, which is how I have mine set up. The printer cartridge comes already installed and there are no instructions to take it out and shake it. There should be. The first few prints had streaks and blank areas on the page. Taking the printer cartridge out and shaking it fixed that. Overall this is a great multi function laser printer at an excellent price marred by a useless manual and sub par interface and software.

Normally I have to trash an inkjet printer about every 2-3 years. Plus the cost of ink is crazy. So I wanted to move up to a laser printer and watched for the Canon to go on sale. The price of other comparable printer were cheaper, but the 3 year warranty for me made the difference. Only 2 weeks old, but no real issues and I'm very happy with the print quality. For home use, the toner may out live me. Slightly negative issues.... 1.) The firmware failed to upgrade (communications error) and the instructions on Canon's website sux at best. I ended up figuring out how to do it manually and got the printed updated. Ethernet connected computer and printer required to do it manually. 2.) It seems you are unable to wake up the printer remotely. I was trying to add it to another computer and had to go and hit the control panel on the printer to wake it up to complete the task. Tons of options and apps available. Printing from my phone also works fine. Buy it.....

Oh I bought this to replace a Old brother fax mfp And the fuse area was dying which would require over $300 in parts plus labor to repair. Unfortunately it took three months to find out that the Fax does not interface properly with many VOIP systems. You have to be adept enough to enter your VOIP operating system to change settings as to the type of interface the fax can connect to. It’s now May I still haven’t got it to work properly After a total of about six hours on the phone with Support from VOIP and Canon. I did pay under US$250 which is not as bad price for a duplex scanner and duplex printer. Also has USB port to scan to and print from ( a nice Plus)

The printer is BIG - take that into account if you need to put it in a cabinet like I did. Remember that to use the scanner/flatbed, you have to lift the top to get to the platten, so that adds MORE height to use the printer. Finding ink cartridges was difficult on Canon's website - at first, I thought they didn't have any and that I had bought an "orphaned" printer. I eventually found it, but it wasn't obvious. It was something like the ink wasn't listed under their Ink menu, but if you looked up the printer first (like you were going to buy it), you could find the ink listed there. The general ink purchase page on their website didn't list the model number of the printer, which is what caused me to think they didn't sell the ink anymore.

La impresora trabaja super rapido, la verdad de mi impresora anterior otra canon MF6545, estoy contento, salvo que tanto aqui en amazon como en la pagina del fabricante la informacion es incorrecta, NO ESCANEA LEGAL, no por lo menos desde la cama de cristal ya que es tamaño carta/A4, asi que si quieres escanear oficio o legal, sera por el alimentador, pero sabemos bien que muchas veces lo que queremos escanear o copiar no cabe ahi o puede pasar por ahi, asi que FALLO enorme, me la voy a quedar pero me voy a tener que quedar mi vieja impresora para escanear lo que sea en oficio, la otra la seguiria usando y no hubiera renovado pero la otra ya por mas que le han tratado de arreglar imprime con fallos, ni hablar, es muy buena impresora pero si necesitas imprimir o escanear en oficio o legal, no la compres

En el primer pedido hubo tema con la paquetería, y no llegó, pero recibí la devolución. Compré con el mismo proveedor y llegó rápido, en perfecto estado. Imprime rápido, escanea muy legible, en general fue muy buena compra! Sumado a un diseño más novedoso!

tengo aproximadamente dos meses que adquii el prodcto y hasta el momento ha funcionado perfectamente, ademas creo que no es tan complicado de configurar. =)

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SELLER. Got this unit on Prime Day. Right out of the box, the control panel screen does not light up at all when the unit is turned on. When I requested a return/refund (actually, I would not mind a replacement at all, but that was not an option), the return label is "sender pays postage"). I figured by the time I pay for postage (a 40-50 lb parcel), there would be dear little left going back to my pocket from the refund. I had this model from a few years back until we got a major paper meltdown onto the drum last year. The printer worked splendidly. I think the seller is doing something fishy.
