I needed to run a new wire from my heat pump to the thermostat to be able to use my smart thermostat (c wire; if you're familiar with it). The 50-foot length gave me plenty of reach, and the red/white color coding made connections simple. The 18/2 gauge is just right for this purpose; it's flexible but sturdy, with clean insulation that strips easily. If you're running doorbells, thermostats, or DIY security sensors, this wire delivers solid performance and value.
