Q: Does the writing wear off?

I've had mine about a week, it is NOT embroidered, it is stamped. Look closely at the pictures. Maybe there used to be an embroidered version but mine is stamped, it does seem like it could wear off. My car is more likely to lose his before that happens, it usually takes him only a few days (sometimes I can shine a flashlight in the backyard and find it from the reflection, but not often). Anyway, I'm pleased with the collar but if I thought he wouldn't lose it I think the printed name/number would wear off before too long.

Q: is this collar a breakaway collar? If my cat gets outside and stuck will it come off so that he is not strangled??

NO! This is misleading and it is important. It is Not a break away collar that is safe for cats. The latch is the same that is used on my cat's harness for walks (which I certainly wouldn't want her to be able to "power" out of). The manufacturer insisted to me that it was a break away, this is not true. I should have emphasized that more in my review and now I will amend that.

Q: how do I remove the bell?

Hi,It's easy to remove the bell from the loop manually. If you'd like to remove the loop from the collar too, you may need a nipper but won't be too difficult. Thank you!Amazon Seller: DogCollars

These collars hold up well to cat nails. The collars are made up of a very durable nylon material. The reflective material is also highly durable. After months of use, neither the nylon collar nor the reflective materials show any signs of wear.
