Easily installed with supplied hardware but do your homework on required torque specs for the bolts.

I installed this and the D44 cover on my 2014 JKU and they look great! I had no issues with clearance of the tie rod or track bar. The quality of the covers is excellent, bolts are included as well as a reusable gasket. Take your time to carefully and thoroughly clean the diff surface before installing, I have had no leaks. I like that these include two fill locations and a drain, but especially that they are made by the same folks that make the OE axle assemblies.

These covers are beefy and look great on our Jeep. Discovered the original rear cover flange was bent at the bottom where we slide over a rock. I was surprised it wasn’t leaking. My differentials on my 2017 JKU already have drain plugs, so the ones on the covers will not be used. I read reviews were people said they weren’t black even though the Amazon picture looks black. I lie, the hammered gray look of them. I had no problems with the bolts. Cranked down on them as if they were a standard cover. The new bolts are slightly longer than the old bolts. The included gaskets are rigid and so far no leakage.Only Con: inside the cover the metal goes up to where you would not be able to drain all the oil out when changing without removing the cover.

This is a serious diff cover. Heavy cast steel. Looks great on the vehicle. Perfect fit for a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.7L limited with Quadra Drive.

The cover itself is great. Nice and thick, great finish, and the drain and fill plugs make it very serviceable. The design is great looking too, no clearance issues with tie rods either. I wish the drain plug was a bit more recessed and I may find a shallower plug for that position. My only issue is the supplied hardware. Using a torque wrench, the first bolt sheared before reaching 25 ft/lbs. The service manual recommends 35 ft/lbs but that is excessive for 5/16 hardware. But to have a supposed grade 8 flange bolt shear before 25 ft/lbs is unacceptable. I used a bench fixture to test the bolt strength and found they sheared at 20 ft/lbs. I replaced the bolts with some ARP bolts, torqued to 25ft/lbs, and all is well. So in review- the cover is 5 star, the hardware supplied is a big 0.

I did not use the supplied bolts - did not want to take a chance after reading all the other reviews. Used the LubeLocker gasket (can’t beat it). I was overly shocked that they are ver silver and not dark at all as the pictures appear. So a little prep and I painted it black with some epoxy paint. 99 Jeep TJ

Heavy duty and well made. I bought stainless steel plugs on Amazon because they look better.

This finish is unique and the construction is immaculate, The shape on the interior is exactly as it should be to make sure lube gets to the correct places, unlike many aftermarket diff covers that create cavitation and misdirect cooling grease shortening the life of Dana Diffs.. this is made by DANA who made the Axle it goes in originally. Excellent.
