It works for its purpose and that is to usb connect to a digital transport that spidf's out into an external DAC. My only worry is that the lightning port section of the connector gets warm. Not sure if that's normal or if its safe in the long run.

Works perfectly for my iPhone 15 I also used this to plug in my focusrite solo gen3 to my phone .

I got this to use with my old digicam. It’s just plug and play. Once you plug it in and open the photos app, you will see an import option. That’s it! It does get a little hot so I would import a little at a time. Prolonged use in one setting seems a little dangerous.

I've edited this review to change it from a low rating to a higher rating in that the problem is not with this cable adapter, but with the iPhone's file structure, which is all on the cloud server and not on the phone. I'm more familiar with Android>Files and Storage actually showing folders that are stored on the phone itself as I don't use iDrive or a cloud service on my other phone (Android)."This lightning cable adapter did not work with my iPhone 11. I plugged it in, plugged in the USB flashdrive v2 and my phone didn't recognize it. I restarted the phone while it was plugged in to test whether this would help, but it didn't. I had planed to use it to transfer my icloud stored photos to a flashdrive. Will need to order another product."

Doesn’t work in either phone.I have an IPhone 8 and 13.Two of the phones they said it was compatible with. Don’t waste your money on this.

The first unit apparently was defective/did not work at all. I texted the seller's customer service and tried their additional instructions to determine it was dead. The seller's CSR immediately got my delivery info and sent me a replacement that works as promoted.

No complaints about product quality. However, I ordered this adapter to enable viewing of content on usb stick as well as content on an external hard drive. I was able to pull up text based files, but no picture files on usb stick. But nothing from the external hard drive without reformatting the drive. I didn’t realize that the new iPad I’m temporarily using wouldn’t recognize files previously saved using other Microsoft system. Otherwise it works as it should.

Updated: I changed from 1 to 3 stars because the sell proactively reached out to me and provided a refund. It did seem like this adapter could work for other peoples uses, just not mine - copying large video files.Original review:I got this adapter so that I could transfer video files to my iPad on a long international trip. Within a couple seconds of trying to copy the file to my iPad, or watch the video on my iPad there would be an error message and my iPad would drop the connection to the SD card. This made the adapter completely useless to me.I got the same error trying to copy the files to my iPhone. Plugging the SD card into my laptop and transferring the video files to my iPad wirelessly worked fine. This used all the same hardware other than this adapter, so my issues were caused by the adapter.
