Cut this to fit the outside surface of a new door that our dog kept scratching to be let in.Shield came rolled up; we laid it flat and placed several heavy books on it for a few days, and it flattened out well.Was easy to cut to the dimensions we needed.Application to the clean dry surface was easy; tends to bubble a bit, but not hard to smooth out.Durability so far is good--we've had it up for over a month. It has stayed in place through downpours.The Best thing is that it is not satisfying for the dog to scratch, so he has actually markedly cut back on the behavior!Door saved!

I needed this tape not for intentional damage by my dogs, but for accidental scratches. The footboard of my old bed frame was scratched up because the dogs liked to stand on it and prop themselves up on it. When I got a nice new bed frame, I didn’t want them destroying it like the old one. After some research I tried this tape. It’s nice and thick and seems to stick well. I was able to measure and cut it to fit the flat part of the footboard where the dogs are likely to stand. I still intend to try to correct the behavior if it happens, but now my bed frame won’t get destroyed in the meantime.I did have to lay the claw shield tape out before cutting and weigh it down with books to flatten it out. It comes tightly curled up in the box, but it will flatten out nicely. As shown in the picture there are a few bubbles in my application, but that’s probably my fault (I’m not good at putting screen protectors on phones, either.) However, it’s not very noticeable even with the bubbles. I had to pull some of it up a couple times and make adjustments as I applied it, and it did not take the finish with it. I’m very happy with the product and it should work well for my purposes. I can see how it could get scratched off of a door by a determined dog, though.

I used this on the carpet in the bedroom doorways in my apartment. My cats like to scratch at the carpet when they can't get into the room and after 3 months, it's still holding up strong and my carpet is safe. *Update, it's been a year now and it's STILL holding up on the carpet. We had to replace ones in the doorway of our bedroom because our apartment had a leak and it got soaked, but considering the only thing able to remove it is a ton of water, I'd say this is a pretty good product for carpet.So I got a second one of these to use on our doors. On carpet it works wonderfully. On doors it does not.

UPDATE 2020:Be careful putting this on fabric furniture items if there are loose or weak threads. Since my cat had already begun clawing my fabric ottoman, once we pulled this stuff off of it, the threads came with it. I had to very carefully cut the threads so it didn't completely unravel the seams.Original Review 2019:Not sure how this holds up on hard surfaces, but I put this on a fabric ottoman to stop my cat from clawing the sides and it's worked really well. It was easy to cut and apply, and is sticky enough to stay put even when the cat tries to claw at it. Her paws just slide right down and she can't a good grip. I was worried it would stick to the ottoman too well and maybe never come off, but it simply peels off when needed - basically like a giant durable sticker. The price was a big hefty for something like this, but I still have a bunch left over after cutting it to my desired size, so it will probably pay off. Would recommend for fabric surfaces like couches or chairs!

It does the job of preventing pets from scratching through the material, but trying to put it on your screen door, it doesn't stay on there very well after some time. May be due to the weather, but the material starts to fall off from the screen. You can easily just re-apply it back on as is, but every now and then, it starts to peel off slowly.

This is a horrible product not only took off the paint on my wall when I was done and removed it, tore off the drywall also. Tried to call the company for my money back and it’s a bogus phone number. Also Amazon refused to refund me also. Said it was outside return window which it was because I used it. Amazon did not care about my damaged walls either. I got completely screwed by the company and Amazon

My cat is a destructive force. I tried the sprays, it worked for a day or so and then she would just back to destroying things. My couch was new and she kept destroying the corner. I bought this to prevent her from further damaging it. It may not be the most sightly thing in the world, but I really don't notice it and I'd rather have it on there versus a shredded corner. It also protects my screen door where she was jumping and hanging from the screen to be let into the house. She was able to claw through it in one area, but she seems to be slowly learning that howling is the preferred method to be let inside. I would have much more damage done to my home if I wasn't using this product. I would have much less if I just got rid of the cat, but I guess that's for another review.

This was an easy installation. No brainer to it. However the adhesive is EXTREMELY sticky. To the point if I had an air bubble and wanted to fix it, there was no going back. Especially if you have paint on your doors it completely ripped the paint off mine. I initially bought this to protect the door from scratch marks and protecting the trim cushion (the one that keeps the cool air in and the heat out). If the paint coming off doesn't bother you I HIGHLY suggest this for protecting your door from claws. My dogs are big time scratchers and it's been protecting my door since I got it!
