Updated Review - Don't Rush To Judgment
I ordered this product because I wanted to get the same type of fire alarm to make it easy to set up. This is an updated version of the previous old one, but what make it great is that it comes with an adaptor for easy set up, just clip it on. My bad!

Easy to change batteries.
This was a replacement for an older smoke detector. My super installed it in minutes (just plugged into the connecting wires already in place). I particularly like the fact that I don't need to pull the unit down to replace the batteries but can simply slide the door open on the unit's front side.

Great item, works well and seller has excellent customer service
We needed to replace our old smoke detector and this is the exact unit we needed although Kidde changed the look of their combination detectors recently. The seller was great and assured us that it would work and was the unit we needed but, if not, they would make sure we got the correct model. Suffice it to say, it was the correct model and it worked perfectly and fit the mounting bracket already in place from the older model. Thanks for the excellent customer service, it's refreshing in this day and age!

Good replacement for old Kidd smoke detectors
I bought 5 of these to replace 10 yr old Kidd smoke detectors. These are compatible and easy to install. We shall see how long these last. Only complaint is that these detectors came in a beat up boxes, I am not sure if they are really new or used.

Easy replacement for previous models
As advertised, this is a snap-out, snap-in replacement if you already have a previous model (as we did). The previous model lasted eight years before the CO detector failed which is within the advertised useful life. My only "complaint" is that when the CO sensor finally wears out, it emits a chirp to alert you to that fact. But there is no way, at least that I could find, of stopping the chirp until you replace the unit. Our alert started about 3 a.m.

Can't replace batteries
Bought this to replace the one that we had in our new home. They only take a specific battery. Even when I bought the exact battery the dang thing still beeped. And it is LOUD!!
