Where do i buy the serial cable for this?

Clockwise tools has the same tool with data port and they sell the data cable, with that you can send the measurements directly to Microsoft excel with press of a button on the cable.

Can you fully depress the plunger, Zero it out and it measures as it falls?

There is surely somewhere online that sells precision tools that would carry different tips. I got mine from Bruwiler precise sales years ago

Not usable for bore gauge

After zeroing out for a bore, it shuts off after non use. When you turn it on again it looses all memory and you have to reset zero again.

Ok, I guess.

It’s fairly accurate but shuts itself off in the middle of a pass then it’s zeroed out when I turn it back on so it’s almost useless unless you’re doing fast passes or don’t mind doing your math again from zero every pass.
