Like the main textbook, the workbook comes with MP3 audio files on a CD-ROM as well as online access to the content. You register on the website, and once logged in you gain access to the content by redeeming an access code from each of your books. The online content is interactive in that it includes the audio and after you type in your answers you can have them checked automatically. Also, I've noticed that there is a lot more content online than in the printed book, so it definitely adds value. I think the workbook is worth getting because the exercises reinforce what you learn from the main text. There are more expensive online-only "additional exercises" that you can purchase to go with the main textbook, but this workbook is a more affordable option and from what I have seen so far the exercises are similar. As you go through the main textbook online you initially have access to the "additional exercises," but toward the end of the first lesson you get a message (in Polish) saying that further access to the additional exercises will cost 95 euro. Online, the exercises in this workbook appear separately from the pricey additional exercises, but the chapters in the workbook do correspond to those in the textbook. I think it makes sense to do each workbook lesson after completing the corresponding lesson in the main textbook. The system saves your work as you go, but you can always clear an exercise and do it again. Apparently you can also get access to the additional exercises if your teacher has a subscription and assigns the exercises as homework. We are looking into that possibility. I'm impressed with this course overall; it's very well put together. I'm taking an introductory Polish class for adults at a Polish language school, and our teacher chose it after evaluating several options. I recommend it for anyone who wants a serious introduction to Polish. I could see Level 1 being used in an introductory college class, but with the MP3 audio and the interactive online content, a motivated independent student could get a lot out of it as well. Note that to do the online exercises you will need to go to your keyboard settings and add Polish so that you can type letters like ' and ' [they obviously didn't survive being submitted in an desertcart review, but I originally typed the second and eighth letters of the Polish alphabet]. If you normally use the English (U.S.) keyboard, I recommend that you install the keyboard called "Polish (Programmers)". I'm told that it's the most commonly used keyboard layout in Poland, and it's very similar to the English (U.S.) layout; you can type most letters with diacritics by simply holding the alt key down as you type the base letter. Review: Good with the learn polish - This is a good book to learn polish, however since my English grammar is so poor, it's proved to be very difficult for me to translate that into polish. Not the book's fault, but mine.

Where's the CD or access to the essential oral portion???
Since we are using Krok po Kroku, extra exercises seemed like a good idea. I want to learn Polish and it is a most difficult language. This workbook is insane! Besides not explaining how to access the oral portions, which are needed for some of the exercises, instructions are sometimes insufficient to start the exercise. The online version contains more exercises than the print volume and duplicate exercises bear different numbers in each version!!! To find the online exercises, trial and error might lead to clicking on an ikon labeled "lista" (when you hover over it), located on the right side of the colored box on on the left of the page that allows you to choose which chapter to access. On the positive side, some words in the online version are defined when you hover over them. Need to find how to download the recordings? Look on the inside of the back cover. The download does work. It's a crapshoot as to whether you'll be patient enough to work with this flawed book. Improvements are needed!
