It’s a Mora. You just expect quality.
This is more of a processing knife rather than a filet style. It’s a Mora, which means it works, beautifully, perfectly. I use it constantly. If it were to wear out, I’d buy another. No questions about it.

It's a Mora.
Great knife, comfortable handle, fantastic blade, razor sharp out of the box. The de-scaler could come in handy, while I have a Rapala and a Shakespeare; I wanted a Mora.

Another excellent knife from Mora
I love Mora knives, and this one does not disappoint. As usual, it's quality and finish for it's price point is excellent, as it is better made than a lot of more expensive knives of this type. A great value. I highly recommend it.

Trusty and dependable fishing fillet knife.
With a name like Mora the expectation is a quality knife that does not break the bank. This Mora honors its name with features not found on any of the other in the line. The knife is light but not lightweight. It is not full tang, rather partial like other Moras. You should use a knife to baton, and if you do this is not a knife to baton with. It is a fillet knife and excels at that slicing chicken, beef cuts, and fish with ease and no sharpening needed out of the box (clam shell package). The blade is sturdy with enough flex for the intended task and I would not hesitate to use this knife for other tasks beyond slicing. The serrated edge does a competent job at descaling fish. Ergonomics are excellent with the rubber handle staying in the hand and not getting slippery. The sheath is a weirs open sheath that is designed to allow the knife to dry out in it. However it feels flimsy and and when slipping the knife in the first few times it feels as if it going to cut through and slice your hand open. I suggest to use a lot of care when sheathing and un-sheathing the knife, and it does get a bit easier but to me it feels as if it is going to break sooner or later if not careful. I simply use a BPS knives leather sheath, as it is never advisable to sheath a wet knife anyways. When on the water I may switch to its original sheath, maybe. The sheath does come with two different belt attachments. This is a good Mora that will not disappoint. The sheath is its weakest point, and it is because of its designed purpose rather than a money saving oversight. The knife outshines the sheath’s weaknesses, and it is a good purchase if you are on the market for a trusty dependable fishing fillet knife.

Great value and a fantastic sheath!
I have quite a few very high end super steel knives, down to 1095 steel. I'm experianced with sharpening. With that out of the way, this knife came in amazingly sharp, with a very good quality polish. I don't understand the issues people are having with the sheath. It's great for warm salty water adventures, drains and dries very well. If you have lived on a beach for a while you realize how important this. Just had a stainless super-steel knife get rust spots. As far as safety as a concern for the sheath...there is none! I have tried slamming this knife into it to see if I break anything, and the thing glides in very well even when attempting to derail it. Don't listen to the haters. The clip works amazing, fits very well on my board shorts or swim-trunks.I do recommend this knife and will be using it for my wild hog hunt in a few weeks, but there are some issues with the steel. It is a bit to soft for my liking, now I did clean some very tough bone fish and used this knife to break through bones. Still the front part of the edge got a few small rough spots.I hit the blade on my 1200 grit diamond a few times and stropped it, and it basically came back to like new. I do wish that Morakniv used a slightly better steel than12C27. It has plenty of chromium, but needs a tad more hardening alloys. It can defiantly be worth and extra $20 for some better edge retention.Either way it's well priced and the scaler works great! If I lose it I would likely buy another. One of the best features of this knife. you don't have to baby it just give it some love from time to time. And if you ruin it, it's no big deal, buy another. So, this will be my tackle box knife that I can leave on a boat and not be concerned.
