These closed-cell polyethylene foam blocks were originally cut to protect military grade night vision goggles but the contract fell through. Their loss is your gain! We have re-purposed them by cutting them into a more standard shape. Because of this, each block has 5 factory cut sides, and one hand-cut side. Blocks are made up of 6 layers of 3/4" thick foam and 1 layer of 3/8" thick foam all factory glued together. Look closely at the pictures to see the surfaces, keep in mind one side is smooth, while the other factory ones are not. This foam provides a difficult to soil surface that is perfect for long-term usage in a variety of areas. Its higher density renders it resistant to breakdown and degradation, and its firmness aids in the casing of frequently used but delicate items that must be packaged snugly, like instruments or technical equipment and it will maintain a professional appearance. Additionally, it can also be used as entry-level sound-deadening in rooms or studios. This foam can be used confidently without worry of discoloration or staining over time. As you can see with the full carton of Almond milk* this foam is firm as it shows no sign of the weight of the carton on it. Although it is very lightweight, this foam is incredibly easy to cut with a sharp knife and can easily be customized to whatever purpose you have in mind, and can also be glued together.
