We looked for ages for a lantern to keep for emergencies when the power is out. This is a camping-friendly, well-designed lantern that does the job. It's compact in design with a really bright light. What made us choose this product is that it can also be used for charging phones or devices in an emergency. An absolute plus when the power is out. I recommend this product.

Was in Spain a few weeks ago when we had a national blackout. We had phones, kindles, iPads, a few candles an torch and food to make a few sandwiches for tea. All the essentials, although we worried as the battery levels fell. It was unnerving, but we ‘survived’. But it made us think. The torch was fine to find things, but didn’t particularly light the room. So as soon as I got back I bought this. I specifically wanted a wind up and solar powered lamp. I wanted something that would light an area in a room (should a blackout occur). I’m not sure we could read a book by it (although perhaps if it was on a table by me I could possibly do so). But it’s certainly good enough to provide light. I also have a wind up/ solar radio. So if it happens again, well, we should have all bases covered. I chose the gold mainly because I like to be able to find things, and although it won’t go with my decor, I would prefer something that I can find easily. Seems sturdy, is very light to carry, and easy to use. Very happy, and will probably buy another.

I use this as an emergency backup in case of power outage. Once charged from the mains I leave it on the windowsill where the solar panel keeps it topped up so it will always be ready. It's lightweight but reasonably sturdy and the carry handle is great if I have to pop down to the shed after dark where I can then hang it from a hook in the ceiling. The addition of the charging output is also useful to get a bit of charge into a phone but is only rated at 1A so maybe a bit slow.This crank handle can only be used as a last resort because it is very hard work and doesn't recharge the unit very quickly. If you needed enough power for a few minutes light or to make an emergency call it would be fine. Although the light can be dimmed by partly retracting the lantern back into the housing this doesn't save any power because the led lights are still on, just not visible. However, it is possible to see them go off just before it closes completely.These are only minor quibbles that I expected and so it is still perfect for my purposes.

Nice lamp with decent output. Quality is good for the price and will be useful when I go camping. I'm not sure about battery run time but it's LED bet it's going to be good🤷.

It doesn't work well for charging phones but it makes a brilliant camping light and nightlight for children!I have had mine for a few years and it still works perfectly after many camping trips, if you forget to let it charge in the sun or to plug it in at home the crank at the base let's you get a decent bit of light and the kids love winding it up so mine is usually always fully charged lol!

It's a lightweight lantern that's easy to hang. The light is a very harsh and dazzling white light that is painful to my sensitive eyes. The beam doesn't go far, although it would be enough to light up a small area such as a very small hallway or a dark corner.The small solar panel is handy and the red charging light came on when I placed it inside my window pane on an overcast late autumn day in southern England. I've not attempted to recharge it this way though as I read in the instructions that it takes a very long time to fully recharge using solar (about 40 hours) and about 6 hours by using the hand crank.But 15 minutes of hand cranking would give enough power to start up a phone. The torch on the bottom is handy and it has a reasonably good beam. A fully recharged battery provides a lot of hours of battery life.

Haft med den när jag var ute i skogen funkar verkligen skitbra som lampa. veven för att ladda värkar funka relativt bra, sol laddaren har jag inte testat än.
