It works great for what I needed

First thing I noticed, when I received this item was the cheap torn packaging it was in. Second thing I noticed, was in the advertising and on the box it says push the button to adjust the arms. There are no buttons to push It's all just tension. The only "buttons" are just silver pieces of plastic on the joint. Third thing I noticed it's almost impossible to get tight around the rearview mirror it flopped around a bit loose no matter what I did. It also didn't want to hold my phone correctly, so I ended up putting Velcro on the back of my phone and this just to try to make sure my phone didn't fall out. Even with all this I installed it and was ready to use it. About a day after I put it in I had to go somewhere and had my first chance to get to use the new holder. Which by the way was in a great position for me to see the screen. I get my phone out go to put it in the holder and it literally fell to pieces in my hand. I don't know if the black plastic heats up at a different rate than the knobs or what making everything loose?? I do know it fell into 4 pieces. I'm not even going to get this replaced because I don't trust my phone in it.

I will go over what I liked and dislike about this product. First, if it weren't for the cheap plastic parts, this item would be phenomenal.I like the phone clamp mechanism, as it holds my phone very securely with internal springs. I also like the clamp on the other end, as once torqued, the arm doesn't move much. but beware of over-tightening as that wears the gray rubber bushing quickly.Now unfortunately, it's the parts in between that make this product questionable in quality of design, the two elbow joints. Because of the cheap nature of the design that those silver painted caps ARE the primary components that not only keep the arm in one piece, but also provide the friction grip to keep the phone clamp in place once adjusted, just reeks of "cash-grab designed failures".My solution? Drill straight through the elbow joints as centered as possible with a small drill bit. I recommend no bigger than 1/8th in size, and thread in a equal sized screw-bolt with flat washers on both side caps, and either a lock nut, or like in my case, double nuts to lock the elbow caps in place. But keep a little play on the bolt as you don't need to tighten the caps into their holes too hard, but just keep them from popping out of place.I am the kind of person who will find a way to fix something until it falls apart in a way that can't be fixed with some glue, screws, or nuts and bolts. I WILL get my money's worth out of this product long after the company that made it goes out of business, just out of spite for this kind of engineering.If others are willing to use my solution to the problems with this product, and even preempt the problem as soon as you get it, this is sure to last many months or years if treated with care, and tenacious spite for the poorly thought out design decisions of it's creators.I hope this is helpful, and informative, and remember, just because it's cheap in some ways, doesn't mean it isn't without a solution to fix it into a quality product.

Perfectly made to adjust to your liking. Firmly stays where it’s set

This is NOT a universal mount. It works in one of my cars but not the other. it's plenty big enough to hold larger phones such as the galaxy ultra, or Galaxy note series phone. However it has to be tightened down perfectly or it will flop around while driving. It holds on the phone with gorilla grip so you don't have to worry about it falling off.

So this item is very cheap, I mean really cheap and not just in value but quality is atrocious. To some it may be a great product but I drive all day and I need a good hands free mount and this one didn't deliver. The installation was easy but the swivel joints cracked when you move the phone around 90 degrees and the top grip didn't lock at all, it just dangles pointing down.

I purchased this phone holder to use in my Dodge Ram big horn truck. It absolutely does not fit every vehicle. The only reason I have not returned it is because I am able to clip it to the edge of my desk inside my house whenever I am working on my computer. I do not recommend it for most vehicle, so make sure that you check your vehicle compatibility before purchasing this item. .

Exactly what I needed, something sturdy and easy to install. Others were bulky and never stayed in place.
