Fantastico!
Sacchi goes in depth and provides detail as to what built possibly the greatest side of all time. You feel as if you're being taken to the heart of the Milan side. The book and the detail gives you an idea of how and why Sacchi and Milan got to be in the pantheon of greats. Only a single season leaves one pining for more

AC Milan during this time were magical
A joy to read how Milan became the proverbial juggernaut they were during this era. The rest of Italian football were just roadkill, unidentifiable roadkill smeared on the highways of the Italian peninsula.

A must read for football fans of any era
I'm a football fan and of an age to remember the great AC Milan side this book is largely about. The tale is told by the visionary manager, and so we do also get some of his back story. This helps us to understand his life and loves, and the many and varied forces which all came together to produce this marvellous team. There's wonderful behind the scenes detail here which fans should lap up, but the book is also very readable and rattles along at a decent pace. I read it cover to cover in a single day.Since it's from Sacchi's standpoint, then we've got to allow for the fact that he might have a different view of some people or events to others. The world might see the club president, Silvio Berlusconi, in a different light based on subsequent events, for example. In other situations, then maybe the fact that he was an eye witness should give more credence to his recollections if they differ from those of others. His first hand account of the on-field head injury incident which almost cost Roberto Donadoni his life isn't exactly how Wikipedia reports it, for instance.I'm a Nottingham Forest fan, and there's echoes here for me of the Brian Cough era and those 2 marvellous European Cup wins. Sacchi comes across even in his own words as a bit of a "Marmite" personality, but someone who changed the game for ever and for the better.

Great insight into a top coach
Sacchi gives some really good insight into his strategy, training ideas and dealings with one of italys most powerfull and charismatic individuals (Berlusconi) and the Dutch trio.It gives details of preperation and days leading up to games, I would of liked to see line ups of both sides included (cause that's the geek I am🤣🤣) but none the less its an excellent book and highly recommended
