Cheap Wood
I was very disappointed in the quality of the wood used for this bed. It was very susceptible to breaking/cracking. For the amount of money paid for it, you'd think it'd be a little heavier-duty, but it's not. I like the idea of this bed with the drawers (no stabilizers,) and the shelving, but would not buy it again.
