Kitchen Knife Set, imarku 16-Piece Professional Japanese Knife Set with Block, Chef Knife Set with Knife Rod, German High Carbon Steel Kitchen Knives Set

I needed some better steak knives and I just love the german steel, how it can stay sharp, and keep a really nice luster too. I am very fond of the Marku brand and I found these, a really good price and had to get them. I was not dissapointed, these knives are flawless. Each one, as perfect as the next, where they are very well made, good quality wood and steel where they stay sharp even after many uses. I just love how the knife feels in the hand too, and so easy to cut with, where I am so happy with the purchase.

First of all, it's sharp, which is for some reason an oft-cited metric in amazon reviews of knifes. Yeah, of course it's sharp, any piece of metal can be picked up off the street and thrown into an industrial sharpener to produce a razer-sharp edge, and in fact I'm sure they actually do this in the knife's country of origin, China. These sort of haphazard production procedures does not prejudice me against any single product, as I've bought some quality items produced in China. This is not one of them.I think the idea is to sell an amazingly sharp (and cheap) knife for an initial positive experience (and review) but leave a lot wanting in the long-term, such as edge-retention, durability, and ergonomics.I bought this knife just for myself to use at work. I needed something that would get the job done and be comfortable while doing it. Since this is not something I need to have a personal attachment to (I already have a nice knife for home use), I looked for something that would simply be adequate. After scouring various knives I decided that I needed one with a full tang to save myself any mishaps. So I settled on this one, and my initial impression is terrible. I haven't even used it at work yet and I feel the need to detract stars from this item.The handle came with a gap between the tang and the wooden grip. The tang is not flush with the handle, creating an uncomfortable ridge. The top of the handle forms an uncomfortable ridge where you would place your fingers in a Chef's grip. I know I will have to adjust the way I hold this knife if I am to use it. There is a large amount of unknown red filler material used to fill the gap between the wood and the tang (but still somehow not enough to fill in the whole space, probably because the piece of wood used is not straight). The tip of the knife has a point as wide as a couple of millimeters.All this is to say, if you want a knife for yourself to cook at home and become a kitchen companion for years to come, save your money and buy something a bit nicer. If you're looking for a gift for someone who you dislike, or you happen not to care about the quality of the items you possess, then look no further.If it arrived with zero defects and exactly as promised in quality, I would be five-star impressed and urge people to go for this one. As it stands it will lose yet another star if its edge retention is sub-par.

I've had these for about a month now and I love these knives! The handles are substantial but really comfortable and sturdy. The blades are super sharp - in addition to being beautiful steak knives at the table, they're also really great for all of my cutting needs when prepping food. I use them for everything. They come packaged very safely and arrive in a beautiful box that would be perfect as a housewarming gift. I've even run them through the dishwasher a few times and haven't seen any rust or issues with the handle. It's a bargain price for the quality. Definitely recommend!

I reviewed this knife previously and believed that it was a little off balance. Someone from Imarku customer service reached out and recommended that I try another of their blades with a different balance point based on that review. After using it for a week, I have to revise my review of this blade as well.I consciously used the new blade for most of my cooking for the past week. Both blades are very similar in appearance, and at least twice I discovered that I'd grabbed the original blade instead - and that it was serving quite admirably! The other Santoku from Imarku is my first choice of blade in the kitchen for anything that does not need a serrated knife. This one is easily my second.If you are considering an Imarku kitchen knife, you really will not go wrong. The blades look good and both of the Santokus came in presentation boxes which would have only needed ribbons to use as-is for gifts. The company cares about their customers, and the knives are both pretty and functional.

I needed an inexpensive bread knife to replace my worn-out German knife. For $29 I didn’t hold any high expectations... however, this knife is solidly built, has a comfortable wood grip, and is just as sharp as they claim! I am very pleased with this “bargain” knife as it is worth 2 to 3 times its sale price.

I am doing a lot of bread baking these days and my old bread knife was worn out. I ordered this one and while it does have some good features I have been generally disappointed. It is attractive and easy to hold but the blade is shorter than I expected (my fault for not checking the dimensions more carefully) and too thick. The teeth cut through crust easily but tear up the softer crumb. Because of its thickness I find it difficult to maneuver into cutting thin even slices. I have decided to order a different bread knife and hope it will soon be back in stock. I cannot recommend this one.

2am Sunday morning. Load of bread a little old. This knife cut right through it. Next thing you know I hear my back door glass shatter. I look down I see a hand reaching into to unlock a door. Mind you it’s cold so they’re wearing a jacket and glove. I swing the knife at them, sliced clean threw the coat must of hit an artery cuz the blood shot out with some pressure. Highly recommend this bread knife very sturdy.

The media could not be loaded.  My dad loves cooking so I got him this as a gift. He loves it and says it’s lightweight, sharp, and gets the work done. I like that it comes with the box because it’s like a present already. Great quality and will buy again here.
