I was looking for something like this that I could use while driving, to capture a thought or take a note during a podcast, etc. during long distance driving. Materials and construction seem fine. Reviewers weren't kidding about the short strap. It's a stretchy material, but, without stretching it, the loop end of the Velcro strap only laps over the hook end by about 3/4 inch. I can easily stretch it a little to get about a 1.5 inch lap without (hopefully) cutting off my leg circulation; the circumference of my thigh at the strap location is about 17 inch (I'm 5-9). To go with it, I purchased 5x8 inch lined, 30 page, note pads off Amazon. The notepad fits fine under the clip and the width is fine, about 1/8 inch short of each side of the kneepad plate. But the notepad does extend beyond the bottom of the plate about 3/8 inch, which doesn't seem to be a problem.

It's on the smaller side. For the cost, it's a great option. There is a pen holder and clip at the top for holding papers in place. It adjusts connects with an elastic velcro along the back of your leg. It can be adjusted for many sizes of legs. There is no quick release mechanism. The velcro must be used each time.

It fits perfectly and stays in place while on flight. It is a great way to have some information insight when We might needed the mostIt’s a fair price.

this is the base, no extra knee board, which is what i wanted for the small space in the RV9A

I like it because it fits my leg better than the larger boards and it doesn't have all the fabric bits that get stuck between my knee and my throttle. As a student pilot, it's been handy to have.
