It works well enough and I had no issues installing it after getting my old one out. It feels sturdy and has worked for a few months now. I bought mine a bit too tall but thats on me. It also doesn’t have electromagnetic discharge issues which you would think wouldn’t be a consideration for a gas tube but…Somehow, the stock gas tube that comes with the IKEA Markus chair is basically a electromagnetic discharge generator. Its not badly shielded cables or monitors that I have but an actually common issue that I figured out googling it. This gas tube doesn’t have said issue at all. The old gas tube would cause interference even when gently sitting down on the chair.

I have a nice "Captain America" chair. The hydraulic pole began to slip. I found this and used a YouTube video to learn how to do it. It's super simple. I got my hammer to knock out the old pole and then just pulled out the pole. The new pole slides in easily. You sit on the chair it is set in place.I waited 2 months after ordering to make sure it continued to work. I have found zero slippage. It continues to hold strong and am very happy with the purchase. It's a great way to save a quality chair.

This cylinder is great. It is easy to install and works in my chair which did not come from the same company (sometimes things do not fit other companies/brands of parts). However, it is really tall. I sit at a normal size desk with a standing desk set up on top of it, and I was just an inch or so too low with my old cylinder. When I installed this one, I ended up being an inch or so too high and had to raise the standing desk to it's first height to be able to fit. So just make sure your measurements are correct for how high you want to be.

Much sturdier than the stock one that came with my chair. Supports me, my wife and child. Sits a few inches higher

The installation was very simple. The hard process is the removing of the old cylinder. But once accomplished, the installation is extremely easy. This new cylinder is taller than the original, which is very convenient

Great replacment for a dead chair.

Product was relatively easy to install and functioned satisfactorily for around 1 year. Product began having problems, an now no longer holds position.
