I like this candle for several reasons. It looks like a real candle with a moving flame. It has a timer so it will come on and go off the same time every day. Even though it looks like wax, it is a hard plastic and will not melt outside. It is to go in a Japanese lantern in the garden...it will hold up outside, look like an authentic candle and shed a lot of light without running any electrical wires. This is not my first Luminara candle. I would definitely buy this one again and again. Hope this helps.

Looks realistic. Great alternative to the worry of regular candles. Still provides all the ambiance of that “glow” we all love.

These Luminara outdoor candles are exactly what I was looking for. I use them in my outdoor lanterns, and they look incredibly realistic thanks to the moving flame effect. They add a warm, inviting glow without the worry of using a real flame. One of the biggest reasons I chose these is that they can handle the Houston heat. Unlike traditional wax candles, I don’t have to worry about them melting during the summer. I paired them with the Luminara remote, which lets me run them on a timer. That makes them incredibly convenient since they turn on and off automatically each day. My only hesitation is the price—they’re definitely an investment. However, the realistic appearance, durability, and convenience have made them well worth it for me.

These luminara candles are thee best way to light the porch or deck. They look gorgeous in our lanterns. Quick FYI, they take 2 AA batteries so they won’t last as long on the timer function as some of our others that take C batteries.

I have used these candles for over 8 years in my customers' outdoor planters without an issue. Year after year they work. I never use them in the summer heat just in the winter urns I make. I have over 10 customers using these candles annually - so I speak from experience. As each client has 2 or more candles. 2 out of 4 candles from this order failed this season. This is 50% failure rate. I think considering their price this is unacceptable. On Luminaire Canada site their is no way to reach customer service or any where to write a review. I would think twice when buying this product.
