It receives mail.
Easy to assemble, the 8 & 10 year old had it together in 10 minutes with little supervision from me. Well made, Stands up to the element's but the snow plows around here have knocked it over with a 100 pounds of sand in it. No damage just stand it back up in 2 seconds. Box it a good size maybe a little bigger than a standard postal box. Looks great, we bought the red box because it reminds my wife of the little tikes car and makes her chuckle.

Excellent buy
When someone knocks down and breaks your mailbox the week before Christmas and you live in a cold climate, this is an excellent option. It wasn’t a problem to assemble, although I would have preferred a bit more verbiage with the illustrated instructions. But overall it was easy enough, with the most difficult part being hoisting the sand bags around. The day after I put it together we had 50 MPH wind gusts, and the mailbox wasn’t even shaking. It seems to be made of sturdy plastic and was a reasonable price. While I bought it to solve a problem in winter, I would recommend giving this a try in any season. It works great, looks good and no there’s no hassle with sinking a post in concrete.

Sturdy, well made and easy to assemble
I'm pleased with the quality of this mailbox. I wanted to avoid drilling into exterior siding and was really unsure about the sturdiness and legitimacy of this dig-free option. I took a chance and am super happy with my purchase. It was relatively simple to assemble (did it on my own), and I purchased sand from a local hardware store. It has held up great through various rain and snow storms. Stays dry inside. I would highly recommend if you're seeking a no-drill, no-dig mailbox.

Fantastic Alternative to Digging
We wanted to move our mailbox to the other side of our driveway for convenience. But the thought of digging a hole for the post and installing that was groan-inducing. I decided to research alternatives and came across this. We read about every review and decided to give it a try. The process of putting it together was easy. You don't need any special skills or know-how, just the ability to follow directions. Everything fit together nice and snug, all holes lined up and nothing was miss-aligned. Filling it with sand is definitely easier with two people, I wouldn't even attempt it solo unless you have no other choice. The funnel it comes work works just fine, just use a scoop or cup or something to pour your sand into it. As other reviewers stress, use sand that is 100% dry. I can't imagine using even slightly damp sand, how annoying it would be. We actually used finely crushed glass that we got from a local winery (they crush it because it can't be recycled, and we got it for free). It does make a mess to fill it, so be sure to do it outside where you don't mind sand and dust all over. There's really no cleaner way to do it, it will make a bit of a mess when filling. We carried the base out to the street first, then the post and assembled it there. Again, two people makes that easier. We put ours on the ground by first removing the grass, leveling it out, putting some crushed glass down (or sand works), then simple pavers. This brought it up in height enough to be compliant. Be very careful about that, and make sure you check into the height regulations and how high yours will be once you have it where you want it, and measure from the street up to the mailbox itself. I really like the rear opening door, that is fantastic since we live on a busy road. Size of the mailbox itself is fine for average house-hold needs. The magnetic doors open and close great. I'm not a huge fan of the red flag being on the front because I can't see it from my house to know if the mail has been taken or not, but the flag itself functions fine. If you have it pulled out, you can be confident it won't close on its own by wind or something. Even though this is plastic, I do not think it looks tacky or cheap. It looks great, plus no maintenance or worry about a wooden post rotting out. The real test will be in the winter when the state plows fly by our house and sling the heavy, gravel-laden snow. I will update my review at that time once we see how the mailbox performs. But as it is now, I feel it'll be good. If we get wind strong enough to move it or knock it down, then we have more to worry about than just the mailbox!

Sturdy, nice sized mailbox -no digging!
Great mailbox! I just got a home remodel and didn't want to put holes in my new siding. Plus I was getting a front deck and wanted to have one on the ground for the mail person (without having to dig a hole). I read the reviews first, and followed the instructions of the reviewers, and that really helped. I bought dry sand (basically nice play sand). Kept it inside the night before so it didn't get damp. Then I used my own funnel and a cup size plastic measuring cup to scoop the sand out. I did this by myself and I am a 60 year old female. I finished the entire thing in about a hour. So really not hard to do if you take your time. I did it on a nice weather day, not hot or cold, so it was pleasant to do outside. It feels sturdy and i love the front and back opening. My mail person seems very happy with it too!

Sturdy unit and easy to set up without digging
Purchased mid winter when snow plow took out existing wrought iron mailbox stand and the ground was too frozen to dig a new one. Thought it would be temporary fix. Filled the base and stand with play stand as instructed. Used a bag of paver base to level up. Three months fast forward and the mailbox is working just fine. Appreciate the yard-side door to retrieve mail that we didn’t have on our metal box. Maybe we won’t replace it!

Solid No-dig mailbox kit
Assembly instructions could be clearer but works well & decent build quality. Suggest 100 lbs of dry, fine sand for proper weighting. Good no-dig, grade-level alternative to post style mailbox requiring digging & concrete. Just place on this one level ground. Instructions said 75lbs sand, it took100lbs filled to capacity.
