A great compact IP camera with the right features and priced well.
This is my second time writing this as the first one was lost after a page reload. Only took an hour! So here is the second attempt….Connections & MountingWifi and Ethernet.WiFi (2.4GHz only)This is my third IMOU camera, and WiFi is very easy to set up. PLEASE NOTE - your phones volume MUST be turned up when setting up the camera via the app. The app sends sonic sound to the camera to relay the wifi settings. The only time I have ever had an issue setting up an Imou camera is when I have entered the password incorrectly, or if the volume is too low.EthernetFor those that like POE, whilst I don’t think this camera has a native option, it would be more than easy enough to use a POE splitter and house it in an IP65 junction box near the camera. The power adaptor port is smaller than an RJ45 connector, so for those wanting to use Ethernet, but not POE, drill the hole slightly larger than the required size for the RJ45, thread the power out first and then the ethernet. This will help keep the hole as small as possible. The camera cable runs through the mount so the camera can be mounted right over the drill hole, or there is a notch in the base for the cable to be threaded through to allow power/ethernet connections within a junction box.Regardless of preferred connection, I found both work very well. The mount has a couple of screws which you loosen to adjust angles and position. Whilst the mount is very sturdy when the fittings are tight, be careful when making adjustments. Done right, you’ll be able to set the camera at any angle you desire. The mount is plastic but quality and strong plastic, and will probably survive the British weather more than my Sricam metal mounts did.Picture - It’s good, I’m impressed, but I was hoping to me more impressed. To my knowledge this is my only Imou that is 4mp, Once set in HD (via the app) it provides a very clear image, but not one that I can say is that much clearer than my other two IMOU cameras. That said when I pan the camera (panned by hand, this is a static camera) it does show a smoother image compared to my other two.Regardless of the definition standard, the camera provides a very clear quality image.Sound - clear and loud enough (depending on distance from camera)This is an 1-way sound camera, so you can hear what’s happening of the camera end, but you can not talk/ communicate back. This is a shame, this camera is a lovely compact camera that would fit perfectly just above the front door. Because of the great motion detection (see below), this would make a great (and cheaper) door camera. Once someone walks up the door, you would get a notification from the app and you could open up the steam and interact with the person at the door. If you like the idea of this, maybe consider this model instead - B07W14FQHC - It provides a good image and has a built in security light as well as a 100dB siren, both of which can be activated automatically or manually via the app. So if an unwanted someone is at the door you can chase them away with a very loud siren.Night Vision - Not tested this time, but should be as good as my others.I haven’t gotten around to testing the IR on this one yet, but if it is as good as the other IMOU cameras you shouldn’t have any issues with night vision. The IR can be set for auto or manual activation. Remember, if you are planning on using the camera THROUGH a window, remember to deactivate the IR feature.Motion Detection - one of the crowning glories of IMOU. It works and well!Motion detection isn’t a unique feature to IMOU but it just seems to work and with a lovely feature of deselecting areas of the camera view. For example, if you have the camera watching your front drive but it catches the edge of the road where moving cars are causing motion detection settings every 5 minutes you can disable that part of the camera. This is done in the settings via the app. The whole view is still recorded, but the deactivated ‘cell’ won’t trigger a motion detection. (see photos, greyed out is deactivated).Google/Alexa Integration - ‘OK Google, show me the front drive’. For all those with an inner geek or the smart homeI can only speak on the Google side of things here as I don’t use Alexa products. This feature is simple to set up. It is all done in the Google Home App. Once you have done this once, any other cameras added to your app will automatically appear in your Google Home app, you just need to assign it to a ‘room’. Once done, I can ask my Google Home Hub (or chromecast TV) to show me the camera and I am presented with a live stream.Security - ALWAYS CHANGE THE DEFAULT PASSWORD ASAPWithin the app you can change the camera password. ALWAYS do this ASAP once you have connected the camera. This makes its harder for hackers. There is also the option to create your own video stream encryption password rather than using the IMOUs own server encryption. This is a nice feature but I do not know enough about this setting, but I can confirm changing/setting this option seems to remove 3rd party integration (such a Google/Alexa). It would be nice to know more about this option.Summary - a great compact IP camera with nice features and a good price. The IMOU app isn’t perfect but it works very well and has plenty of options to help get the best out of your camera(s). If there is ever a connection issue, just close the app and reopen. Don’t forget to order a memory card if you want to look back at the recorded footage.I’m glad to add the IMOU 4k Bullet to my IMOU collection but I would probably spend the little extra and buy the IMOU Bullet Pro (G26EP)

Imou Bullet Lite 4MP (QHD) Outdoor Wireless Security Camera
The Imou Bullet camera came well packaged in a small box. The cctv is compact with a single antenna for wireless connection. It has a built in microphone and supports 2 way communication. A power adapter and other accessories was suplied including mounting template. I was able to quickly conneect the camera to my ethernet and wireless network by following the simple instructions. The picture of the camera has 2 modes, SD or HD. During the day time there is a good clear vision and the image resoultion is very good. However, the 4MP is a let down at night time and if you try to zoom in the pixels are a let down and you get a grainy image. When I compare to other non 4MP camera I am not impressed with the quality. You can easily access the cctv via the IMou apps for desktop or apple devices. There is the option to also use SD cards to record videos and cloud storage (with a choice of subscription).

Great camera
So this camera exceeded my expectations. Took less than 2 minutes to boot up and start working. So easy.I've stuck an SD card in as I decided not to bother with the cloud. The best thing about the SD card was, you can pull up old footage from it and view it on your phone, straight from the app-you do not need to take the SD card out and put it into a pc to view it. That makes it sooo convenient! And you can record the footage onto your phone as you view it, as well as take photos from the footage. It stores it on your phone. The SD records constantly and overwrites itself. 128GB will record about 4 days worth in HD. You can also switch between HD and Standard Definition. The app is so amazing. It has so many features packed into it. I sometimes get lost or forget how to navigate because you can do pretty much everything via the app, from formatting the SD card to rebooting, plus all the features. The pictures shown is just the camera pointing out the window temporarily, so you may see the glass reflection. The 3rd is of it installed. But the quality is good. This is on 4mp high definition. It has also connected to my Amazon Fire 8 in the kitchen. Very handy. So impressed that my friends are getting this too. The app gives you a free 7 day cloud storage trial, per device, which you can activate anytime. I may save this for when I may go on holiday! The built in microphone for picking up sound is quite sensitive. In that, noise made downstairs in my kitchen is picked up by the camera upstairs and relayed back to my Amazon fire 8. This is very good as when it's finally placed outside, it will clearly pick up voices and speech from intruders.I had an older CCTV system with NVR and oh my word, that was so hard to set up. From registering the IP address of each cam to connecting it to WiFi etc. I gave up and bought this and it's so amazing. The load up on the app is quick. It hasn't lost the WiFi signal yet. Which can happen briefly at times when connected Wireless.Even comes with a waterproof gland for the LAN connector, as this is usually left outside. However, I've made a hole in the wall big enough to push the LAN socket and power connector through so it's indoors. All in all, very happy.

Excellent picture and unlike cheaper brands will work with Alexa and NVR systems
Another great camera from IMOU. I have the one with the light and siren on my front door already and was looking for something to cover the back garden, but I tried to save a few bucks on one of the cheaper brands that said it was Alexa and NVR compatible.... failed pretty badly on both fronts so thought I would save myself the bother and get a brand I already had. As I had hoped for it worked just as I wanted it to with recording to QVR on my NAS and allows Alexa to show the video feed when asked.I did find the mount a bit cheap feeling compared to the other IMOU camera I have as its just plastic and wary if you adjust it too much you might find the grip weakens compare to the all metal mount of the other model. However the camera itself is much the same (only one aerial though) and once mounted it seems to be fine.I get a good clear picture with this camera and after putting in an SD card also get to use the alerts on the app to check what the movement was. This feature works well although it does push you to get cloud subscription a lot but you can ignore this if you want and view recordings from SD card.Night vision is pretty clear although due to the height of my camera find it falls off towards the edges. However I have a floodlight that usually comes on and even in low light the picture is very good.As you can see in the attached pic I can see full garden area I wanted to cover and have 24x7 recording on my NAS.

A great outdoor camera
Been using this for a while now, and wanted to say what a great camera it is. It's sturdy, and took the lashing of the storm last night. Night vision is good as well.Been great for watching over our drive.
