Before this, I'd tried my luck with a less expensive product that turned out to be a waste of time, if not money. I returned that product after having given it a fair shot for about a week, having been convinced in the end that it was just no good. As soon as I had this leash in my hands, I knew immediately the quality was much higher. I put it to work right away on a nice, long walk with my dog, who is still a puppy with lots of energy and very strong. The retraction mechanism worked perfectly, and the guide where the tape reels in and out did a good job of making sure it didn't get tangled, but the best part was the locking mechanism. I think that's the weak spot in the less expensive knock-offs, but in this leash, it worked flawlessly every time. It locks and unlocks easily, and will stay locked when you press the switch to engage that. This leash is a bit heavier than others I've tried, but in a good way. It does not feel flimsy or cheap at all. Everything works smoothly, and it feels quite strong. Time will tell, but I think this will be something that will last, even with an eager and strong puppy pulling on it when she sees a squirrel.

This is a well made high quality retractable lead that works very well for my small but very active eight pound Yorkie. Has more lead available than I need but the lock to keep more lead from extending is easy to use and works well. Good quality lead that is smooth and feeds in and out smoothly. The snap that attaches to the collar or harness is HD and easy to operate. Priced right also. I would recommend and buy again.

This leash has worked very well for us. We used it all summer and had no issues of wearing. It was helpful for working on recall for our puppy. It retracts, locks, and unlocks very easily and I think it’s comfortable to hold. We did find we needed to be cautious because there was one instance our puppy started running and I got a rope burn across my leg while my boyfriend was holding the leash. We’ve been able to avoid that since it happened, we just needed to get used to how to use the leash

The German quality is apparent in the solid construction and durable materials, as the handle feels sturdy and well-made rather than flimsy or cheap plastic. The black color is neutral and practical, and the ergonomic handle fits comfortably in my hand even during longer walks. However, the button placement took some getting used to, and I initially struggled to operate the brake and lock smoothly while managing my dog, especially when they would suddenly pull or change direction. The cord itself is thin but strong, handling my 40 pound dog's pulls without fraying or snapping, though I do worry about its long term durability with a dog who pulls frequently. The locking mechanism works well when engaged properly, but if you don't push the button all the way, it can slip and release unexpectedly, which has caused a few frustrating moments. The leash can get tangled around my dog's legs or objects if they circle around things, which requires stopping to untangle the cord before continuing. The retraction can be quite fast and forceful, so I have to be careful when letting it fully retract to avoid the handle or clip whipping back and potentially hitting my dog or nearby objects. Overall, it's a well-built, reliable retractable leash that provides excellent range and smooth operation for medium dogs, but mastering the button controls and managing the fast retraction requires some practice and attention during walks.

This is a good extended dog leash. I’ve used it a few times and the quality is good. I like the retraction leashes better because they are stronger, they don’t ever get tangled and they retract back faster.

This is such a well designed product. I use the large size for a smaller dog in order to get the 26ft tape length so he has some slack to run after squirrels and such. The stop works very well and locks in place to restrict the length if you need to contain the dog and not use full length. It retracts very well and has a nice hook for connecting to a harness. Product is smooth, quiet, and very durable. This is the second one I've used in over six years.

I purchased this leash for my 11 lb. Havanese. It’s the perfect size/length. I’m a fan of the FLEXI brand, and this leash doesn’t disappoint. I like the black tape. His other FLEXI has a light gray tape, and it quickly appeared dirty and dingy. I prefer black or yellow tape. It’s not reflective so isn’t easily visible after dark. It does lock easily, and I prefer this classic tape style over other options.
