Great nutritional reference!
i'd recommend this book to anyone interested in really understanding the relationship of health to what one eats. The recipes are also quite wonderful and very tasty, in addition to being very good for you. i like Fuhrman's straightforward explanations and how he adds the research info as background, as well. My goal was to better understand overall food choices and their relationship to better health and well being. This book in no way disappointed me. Also, i'd recommend buying his other book, Eat to Live.

Great to Carry With You!
I'm completely new to the "nutritarian" way of eating, and is it ever enlightening! I like this little handbook for taking with me to the grocery store so I can easily reference what products I need, for the recipes I wish to try. There's also some good information that teaches you why you want to make certain changes in your diet, and the very handy and revealing Food Scoring Guide that you want to know about and use!

Big Fan
I have seen Dr. Furman on many other media discussing health and, much moreso than any other "expert", I wholeheartedly agree with him. I bought this book one and only for the ANDI scores--which I found somewhat incomplete, Personally, aside, I recommend all Furman books as exceptionally insightful. I am a huge fan of his work. While the ANDI scores are exceptionally helpful (I've yet to see anyone else who provides anything even close to as useful), I thought they were a bit lacking in their volume. A better way to summarize would be to say it was exceptionally useful and I recommend for everyone, anywhere, anytime. To me, the scores should be taught in school, but, regretfully, they're not. However, I hope a next edition will have more scores for more foods.

Indispensable Aid for Nutritarians
This is a very compact paperback. So I thought the price was a little more than it should have been. But this book has really helped me a lot. I had been following the nutritarian diet for about a week before purchasing this book. My meals were pretty bland and uninteresting. This guide helped me to prioritize my foods much better. And the recipes are great. As a result of buying this book, I'm eating better and enjoying eating fruits and vegetables more. I have yet to see a recipe in there that I don't want to try.

A Good Start
If you have Type II Diabetes or are morbidly obese, Dr. Fuhrman's program is a good thing, but if you're just looking to get healthy and lose 20 lbs, you can use this as a suggestion more than a rulebook. People are meant to eat meat and fat and neither one of those can hurt us. What really kills us is grains, legumes and other complex carbs that cause the body to produce insulin and pack on fat. The liver is where your high cholesterol comes from and lots of whole grains will cause it to increase. I'm following a Paleo diet and I got this book because it gives good analyses of the different food options and I can choose which vegetables, fruits and meats I need to flesh out my diet plan. If you're on Dr. Fuhrman's diet already, this book is a good buy, but even if you're not, it has info on making the best possible choices.

Food choices
This book will teach you what foods to add to your diet that are high value micronutrient rich foods. Many food choices and you don't need to go on a "diet" simply add higher value food, one or two each week and you will as slow or as fast as you choose, be taking steps to improve your health. You don't have to deprive yourself. You will feel better by adding better quality food to your way of eating. You can eat junk if you want but in time you will naturally crave better foods.

Great Book
Dr. Fuhrman is great. He gives great insight into how the body works, how you metabolize food and how food is truly the best medicine of all. I concur! The ANDI chart is most helpful. It guides in understanding how to get the most "Bang for you Buck" grocery/food wise. Dr. Fuhrman is wonderful. A geek by all standards but a marvelous, adorable geek that should be Canonized for his efforts for helping cure and prevent diseases. God love'm!

Awesome read! I enjoy all Dr Fuhrman’s books as well as his podcasts and YouTube channel. Very informative. This purse sized book gives you a quick reference if you need to look up anything while grocery shopping when it comes to nutrient values, ANDI scores on produce, the nutritarian way of life is in my opinion the right path to be on.

Das Buch ist informativ, einfach geschrieben, sehr verständlich. Ein interessanter Ansatz zur Ernährung. Am Ende ist Selbstdisziplin nur durch lesen leider trotz tolle Einsichten immer noch nicht zu schaffen...

I first became aware of Dr Fuhrman as he was Joe Cross's doctor in Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead and he has his own inspiring way of eating - since reading his book and also the Nutritarian Handbook I have become a Nutritarian most of the time and it is a sensible way of eating it you want to eat food rather than just juice as Joe did. I try to do a bit of both. I can recommend both books to you but I bought them for my Kindle but now wish (if they were available in book form) i had bought them as a book as i have an original Kindle which is black and white and no colour - the highlighted bits where obviously in colour and you dont get the same effect in black and white - but i am glad I got them and if you are interested in eating only nutrients you will find this interesting
