Tramontina Enameled Cast Iron Saucier Pan with Lid, 3-quart, Blue

Used this for the first time to make meat sauce for pasta - sausages, tomato sauce, etc. - and it worked beautifully. Even heating and very easy to clean. It IS pretty heavy but it's cast iron under that pretty porcelain. I give it an A+; definitely worth the investment, particularly if you compare the price to other pans of similar construction. Way to go Tramontina!

When the ceramic surface on my old Le Creuset cracked, I decided to give this brand a try. It’s considerably more affordable than Le Creuset, and I’m finding it performs just as well. This is a great pan for making polenta, although I wish it were a little larger. I find that it heats evenly, and so on low heat works well for making custards and curds. I purchased a Dutch oven as well for making soups and stews. I do find these to be quite heavy, as heavy as my much larger Le Creuset. On the stove, that’s not a bad thing, but don’t skip your resistance training if you want to be able to lift this. I do find that the handle gets hot so I have to keep a hot pad handy.

Some of the amazon pages get confusing when they have multiple versions products by the same manufacturer. I returned this because it was not the model I wanted. However, I can guarantee it is a very good product. I returned it for the dutch oven - which is also great. If the dutch oven, which is of similar construction, is any indicator, then this is a really good product. I've used it many times - no chips in the enamel (yet) and easy to clean. As other reviewers have mentioned, there is no seasoning/enamel on the rim of the lid. Do yourself a favor and season it with a light coat of... whatever oil/fat you like to season with. BIG BONUS -- really good price point.

I love my pan. It’s so pretty and I love that it’s not Teflon. We’re getting rid of any Teflon in our house.
