Replacement (100657) for Moen Lever Shower Handle, Compatible with Moen PosiTemp Valve Systems

Very pleased with the beautiful quality & workmanship of this faucet and great price. Also happy with this company's response to our problem with adapter confusion. We struggled with the screws sent & adapters trying to find correct fit. They immediately sent another faucet trusting us to return what we believed to be a faulty one. It was not at all faulty. There are 2 adapters with this faucet and we just had to improvise and remove a collar on 1 of them which actually created a 3rd adapter option. We didn't want another crappy peeling junk metal or plastic faucet that needed replacing again and again. Most stainless replacements are very pricey but I found this stainless faucet and a matching stainless steel wall plate on Amazon (from a different vendor) for less price together than the junky standard metal/plastic sets sold @ Home Depot & online. Smooth & sturdy working & beautiful. Very happy camper here. Thanks much!

Exact fit, worked well.

When I first opened it, I was kinda annoyed there weren’t any instructions, but honestly, once I ripped off the old nasty shower knob, it took me less than a minute to figure out how to install the new one—super straightforward. I actually bought two of these to swap out those ugly plastic Moen teardrop handles that were impossible to keep clean and one had even broken after like 17 years. The hardest part was just getting the old cover off, but after that, it was a breeze. The kit comes with two adapters, one for posi-temp and one for moentrol or moen standard , so you have to choose the right one. Highly recommend if you want a quick, easy, and legit stylish upgrade!

Easy installation on an old Moen shower valve, but the handle weight causes the valve to rotate when the cartridge is well-lubricated so I'll try it on another shower that may not have as well-lubricated cartridge. If that doesn't work will donate to Habitat for Humanity.

I recently installed the Moen shower handle, and I was impressed by how easy the process was. It comes with two plastic adapters, screws, and an Allen key—everything you need for a seamless setup. I changed the rating from 5 to 3 after the plastic adapter broke within 2 months of daily use. Replaced the plastic adapter with this: Shower Handle Replacement Part for Moen 116653 Posi-Temp Shower Handle Replacement Part Adapter Kit . Note: You may need an Allen key with a handle to get the screw tighter.

I will change this review if this doesn't hold up, but here are a couple of things. When I first read all the reviews I was hesitant to buy this item, but there really isn't any other choice on Amazon that I could find. Speaking purely from the posi-temp type valve 1222 (not the moentrol 1225) it fits nice and tight and works as expected. At this point I can't see why the plastic mounting base would break unless you were using the the valve handle to get up out of the tub, or intentionally were trying to damage it. Also, on a side note, if you are needing this handle you likely had to destroy the old on to get it off (like I did). Go ahead and spring for the 1222HD valve. You will not regret it. All metal construction, and arguable what Moen should have had in there in the first place.
