Geo F. TrumperCoconut Oil Hard Shaving Soap Refill

I have used the Trumper limes cream and limes skin food in the past; both of which are great products. I prefer soaps to creams, and I purchased this based on the reviews of the coconut shave cream.After using it for a few days I can say that I like the scent and I like the slick, oily feel, but it has a major flaw. I simply could not get a good lather from it. I heat it up under a hot running tap, and I load my brush a little more dry than I would with something like Proraso, but I still get a thin, foamy lather that dissapates before I can finish my pass. It's still very slick, but the lather is rubbish.Based on that I'd give it a 3 star rating, but it was easily fixed by adding a dab of Jack Black triple cushion cream. After that, the lather was as thick and creamy as Cool Whip. So figured that I'd give it back another half a star (round up to 4)

Overall it's a decent soap. The only issue I have with the Geo F Trumper hard soap is that the lather will dissipate. I would give it 3 starts but the slickness on this soap is absolutely fantastic, which is why it gets 4. Weather or not my lather had dissipated, the slickness is really what protects my face. Even though I don't have a fantastic lather built, there is still a large amount of slickness left over which can allow me to pass over a previously shaved area again and again. The scent of this soap is nice. It's not too powerful, at least in the coconut but it's still noticeable and it's a rather sweet smell.

I am about a year into double edge safety razor shaving and have been trying out a bunch of blades and soaps. I'll probably not buy this one again. It lathers moderately well, but the smell is more soapy that coconut. It seems to be more drying than most shave soaps, which I don't particularly care for.

It's okay. Nothing special as far as how easy it shaves, lathers, or makes my face feel...especially for the money.

I switched from canned shaving cream to soap and a brush because I was frustrated with the amount of waste that shaving cream creates. These soaps come in a small box (minimal packaging) which is fully recyleable. One refill lasts me more than year! (granted I only shave every 2 or 3 days). I love the smell and feel of the soap, and I love knowing that 6 cans of shaving cream aren't going into a landfill every year!

I continue to enjoy Trumper shave soaps. The after shave skin feeling is smooth with no razor burn. Each cake lasts between six and eight months. I do recommend.

I've used this soap for about a week now. The lather is very weak and thin. While it smells nice, the lather disappears about 30 seconds after you put it on. The workaround is the re-lather during your shave.

This is all I use for shaving now. This soap creates a great lather and is easy to use with a brush or without. Without a brush I just rub it on my beard and then lather it up. It is also great for traveling as it can come in a carry on without having to remove it during security screening.

Brush until a lather forms, brush more until you get a cream. Great stuff!

After applying it, by the time I pick up my razor it’s disappeared!

This is not real shaving soap, it may be quick to lather but the lather is gone from your face before you have half finished your shave. Very disappointing from a well known name in shaving.

The smell is nice but the lather disappears after 1 minute of using the brush, so you need to keep using it at least twice more. Quite a disappointment in quality
