Perfect Router for Streaming, Gaming & Work-From-Home
Future-Ready Wi-Fi 6 Router with Strong Performance! The ASUS RT-AX53U AX1800 has been a fantastic upgrade for my home network. It's a Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) router, which means faster speeds, better range, and smoother performance when multiple devices are connected — and it truly delivers. The setup was simple using the ASUS Router app, and it gives you full control over network settings, guest access, and parental controls. I'm getting stable high-speed internet throughout a 2BHK home, with no dead zones. Streaming, video calls, and online gaming are all seamless. The OFDMA and MU-MIMO support makes a huge difference with multiple users. It also has a USB port, which I’m using for network storage — works like a charm! Build quality is excellent, and the router looks sleek too. ✅ Pros: Wi-Fi 6 support (future-proof) Strong and stable dual-band performance Easy setup with ASUS Router app USB port for file sharing or media server MU-MIMO and OFDMA = smooth multi-device usage Good coverage for medium-sized homes ❌ Cons: Range is solid but not massive (best for 2-3BHK homes) No wall-mount option (minor issue)

Coming from Netgear
Coming from Netgear R6220, I am quite disappointed with this router in terms of GUI functionalities. The UI is so suffocating I could barely want to hover into the tabs, Some pages display improper information. Though this is the day 1 review. I felt, Asus should have kept the GUI simple like Netgear. It feels like I am in a BIOS settings page. I understand Asus main theme is like gaming and over visuals. But for home routers, they should have made it simpler. This is my opinion. On the other hand, the device surely looks premium with its build. From far distance, the long antennas make it look quite cheap. Wifi signal is strong and I get good speeds from far ranges. Dead zones are now minimized. Security Features: If you are a tech savy, I recommend not to be fooled by the AI protection and Security features it provides. It just forwards the DNS requests to popular content inspection Servers which takes care of the Safe browsing. At the end the device is still sending the request to the external DNS servers for packet inspections. If you are tech literate, I would recommend to setup a personnel DNS server using Adgaurd/pi-hole, which are absolutely free. Overall, I would recommend this product but this might disappoint folks who are coming from Netgear. Apart from that it is a decent router.

Not good router at all.
After almost 2 years of usage, never felt this is a good router. I know how to configure, so this is not about configuration. I restart everyday (scheduled), is in cool place, but very low performance.

Good Range Router/AP. Horrible Asus Support.
Quick verdict: [7/10] Good range, easy setup. Facing disconnection issue for 802.11ax 5GHz on 2 routers consistently. Asus support terrible. Choose if requirement is till 802.11ac, or 2 GHz on 802.11ax. Range: 9/10 CPU: 9/10 (Mediatek quad core with minimum utilization on normal usage) RAM: 9/10 (256 MB with 50% utilization on normal usage) Value for Money: 7/10 Asus Support: 1/10 Good range router/AP covering 1200 sft that can extend with AiMesh. 1 x Gig WAN port, and 3 x Gig LAN ports equip future readiness. Priced at INR 5000/- these are good value for money WiFi 6 solution but only if there's no critical work/dependency. Details ahead. Got 2 of these routers and configured in AP/AiMesh mode. Facing disconnection issue with 5GHz on 802.11ax for both units consistently in ideal and tested setup. Asus support is horrible including CEO desk level escalation, they are expert in evading customer support. For critical work better choose other provider with slight more price but with peace of mind on support. Try to place the router at best height and center location. If plan to pair with another brand router then connect both Asus routers through LAN cable (AP1 LAN port -> AP2 WAN port) to get it detected. ---- i9-13900/ Noctua NH-U12A/ Asus Z790P/ RM850 Modular Corsair PSU/ 64GB Ripjaws DDR5/ Asus 16GB 4060Ti/ 500GB Samsung 980 Pro/ 4TB Samsung EVO/ 4TB Seagate Barracuda/ Corsair 4000D/ APC 2200VA/ Audio Technica M50x-BT2
