An excellent introduction to Bible journaling. It is beginner friendly, starting with the basics of the type of Bible used for journaling and which tools will get you started. It gives information on the various art mediums you can use to Bible journal including , stencils, colored pencils, watercolor, acrylic pain, rubber stamps, and stickers. You don't have to be an artist to do this. They even provide stickers for your use and line drawings you can trace. The artist profiles were interesting to read. It tells what they do with their art or what sparked their interest in Bible journaling. And they include a gallery of artist works for your inspiration. There is a resource page listing a variety of resources where you can connect with other Bible journaling enthusiasts. Social media sites include Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest.

This book is wonderful!!! It has everything from drawing patterns, sample layouts, instructions on how to use different mediums, and a wonderful bonus section!! If it just had the bonus section it would be worth the price…I’m so glad I bought it!

Absolutely LOVE this book, it's great for beginners all the way to advanced. I love it so much that I just purchased a second copy (because my original one was lent to a friend & she loved it, so I told her to keep it)... So many tips/how-to's with step by step, along with gorgeous visual ideas from a lot of contributors. The additional stickers, and tracing pages are a terrific bonus, and very useful. I thoroughly recommend this book either for yourself or as a beautiful gift.

The designs can be used "as is", or can be traced, used as Bible margin art, or as bookmarks. The four main sections: 1. techniques 2. artist profiles 3. artist gallery for inspiration 4. bonus section with traceable and ready-to-use designs The introduction explains to the reader what Bible Journaling is and covers the three main forms of Bible Journaling; journaling in the Bible margins, journaling "all over" the Bible (covering text and whole pages), and journaling outside of the Bible (in a sketchbook, notebook, Devotional). The introduction also discusses ways of how to get started and has helpful hints on choosing a Bible. The Techniques section covers techniques such as tracing, drawing, patterning. Page preparation and making a background with ink pads is covered as is the use of stencils, watercolors, acrylic paint, washi tape, stickers, die cuts, and rubber stamps. Samples are given for lettering and different layout techniques are explained. It's a book filled with lots of information, like learning that you can use many forms of art like tracing, drawing, and suggestions on using stencils, coloring pencils , watercolors information, how to prep a page, washi tape, rubber stamps and letters, etc. . In the book their are many colorful fun filled pages that demonstrates some of these various art forms. For me personally, I don't want to mess up my Bible were I can't read the page because of the art work, but in the journaling Bibles their are margins that I would like to try tracing and drawing a little bit but mostly color. Since I like to write and read I hope that I can use this information in a notebook.

Wow!!! This book is chock full of ideas and instructions for Bible journaling. I bought a book previously on the same topic and was so disappointed that it had mostly words and few images; not this book--it even has step-by-step pictures for the instructions! It has summaries of different artists and how they do their journaling and one of them is one of my favorite designers. I had no idea that Shanna Noel started the idea--I have been buying her paper, sticker, and card stock designs whenever I see something I like and love them. The two authors do a great job covering everything one needs to know. The stickers and art work designs in the back of the book are terrific! There are pages of vellum designs, designs on regular paper, and alphabet sticker. The stickers are a little larger than I want to use but I'm sure others would find uses for them. There are also sicker books of the Bible tabs in beautiful colors. I'm so glad I bought this book; after the disappointment of the other book I bought previously I almost gave up finding a good one. I can recommend this book to anyone who wants to begin or improve their Bible journaling experience.

I have never done any Bible journaling, but I recently became interested in giving it a try - the problem was, I didn't know where to begin. Truly, this is an amazing reference book - $13.38 and Prime Shipping and in 48 hours you are ready to begin. There are six sections: Getting Started (which tells you how to begin and helps you choose the kind of Bible to use); Tools and Techniques (12 different techniques, including page prep); Artist Profiles(a few pages telling the story and showing examples of the styles of each of the women, including the "founder" of this, Shanna Noel); a Gallery (shows examples out of the Bible, in the Bible and different styles); Resources and Index (gives artist websites, various social media groups, including Facebook and Instagram); and at the very end a Bonus section with tabs, stickers, traceable patterns and more. I have long admired Joanne Fink's lettering style; she is not only instructional but inspirational. This is the most complete book on the subject that I could imagine. For those who would ask "Why Bible Journal?" the best answer is found on Valerie Sjodin's profile pages "it's this experience of meetings, between God and self and between word and image, that makes Bible Journaling irresistible..." There are also constant reminders to find your own method of expression, your own personal style and the images in this book are very helpful in showing me what I like and what I don't like. Now it's time to pick a verse, spend some time with God through it and see where that journey takes me. To me, Bible Journaling is a way to spend more time with God and deepen my faith. I recommend trying this excellent book for yourself - something inside it will send you off on your own creative discovery; I promise.

So many incredible ideas.This truly is the complete book on Journaling and I can't say enough good things about it. A great value for the money.
