I LOVE my Freewrite. I work a full-time computer job. Writing has been such a challenge for me for over twelve years because I just couldn't stand to sit in front of my computer longer, once I finished work for the day. Writing with a pen is too slow when you're used to typing all day. The Freewrite is the perfect hybrid for me! I can write fast, but away from my desk and without the work "feel" of my laptop or the accompanying distractions. Even outside! I wrote 13k words in 4 days with it. I'm never going back.

Terrific, fun writing tool. It tends to put one in the mood to authorize, whether One page editorial, a short story, perhaps a poem, and for those who have the skills: a novel. Dependable, feels good to the hands. I do have trouble linking to my computer for editing purposes however, this is only due to my lack of experience with electronics. I would highly recommend this product. You will love it!

The Freewrite is perfect for me. I spend all day on a computer for work, so by the end of the day I have no interest at looking at another computer screen. The e-ink screen is easy on the eyes, and I rarely look at it anyway - I just type what comes into my head and worry about editing etc... later. I didn't even think about how I might use the folder switch when I bought it, but I have come to love it (at least for my purposes). I write story-board notes on one setting, dialogue on another and narrative/action on the third. Then I put it all together later - as I said at the start, Perfect!

I've had this for less than a week, so it's early days, but first impressions are important I believe.I am very impressed with every aspect of this piece of kit. Those unfamiliar with the mechanics [process] of writing won't understand the genius of a gadget that lets one do nothing but write first drafts. Believe me though, it is genius. It is also expensive, and there are a few software issues that I'd love to change. But for the ability to write without distraction, on a superb keyboard and a screen that is without eye strain, it's worth every penny and the strange looks I get in the café!

The product is fantastic. The keyboard is a delight to use - I use a HHKB pro 2, and this one is comparable (slightly lighter keys). The same feeling as old keyboards from the 80’s. Same clicking. It might look expensive, but if you are looking for the perfect tool to write (not to edit), then this is it. Everything you write goes smoothly into your evernote account, or you can send it to your email with the press of a key. It is ‘vim’ without the edit/visual modes (if the company would go in the direction of adding those modes, that would be awesome btw). A tool that does one thing only, but that is the best at it. Love it.

I dithered about buying this, but I’m so glad I did. My word count has gone up hugely and I look forward to writing.

... meine erste Rezension wurde nicht verwertet. Sehr seltsam. Also noch eine, nicht mehr so erklärend und bemüht sondern kurz. Macht es nicht besser. Das Gerät kostet mehr als ein Notebook und liefert weniger als eine alte Schreibmaschine. Ein hipster tool mit dem man vielleicht in einem Cafe posen kann, dass aber gewiss aus Losern keine Romanautoren macht und andersherum. Für die deutschen Tasten nochmal extra Geld zu verlangen ist mehr als dreist, die Hülle kostet nochmal. Kann man kaufen, sollte man aber nicht.

Super Gerät. Für alle Schreiber die es nicht schaffen zu schreiben. Einfach auf den Schoß und schreiben. Erinnert an die gute alte Schreibmaschine. Nach dem Schreiben die Sendetaste drücken und Du hast es als Email. Dort einen extra Ordner erstellen und gut ist. Die Anleitung ist auf Englisch aber auch wenn Dein Englisch wie bei mir nicht so gut ist, kein Problem- Googel Übersetzungsprogramm macht es möglich alles zu verstehen. Dann das Gerät auf Deutsch einstellen und die Tasten mit den nötigen Buchstaben überkleben oder die sündhaft teueren Tasten nachbestellen. Habe ich gemacht ging gut. Das Gerät ist viel wertiger als es auf dem Bild aussieht. Ich habe genau so ein Gerät gesucht und bin sehr zufrieden. Es hilft bei Schreibhemmungen. Man schreibt eher wie auf einer Schreibmaschine und nicht wie auf einem Laptopcomputer. Alles dauert etwas bis man zum ersten Mal loslegen kann. Neue Updates werden regelmäßig installiert. Ein Gerät für hochsensible Schreiber die mit den anderen Geräten ihre Schwierigkeiten haben. Bei YouTube gibt es auch Deutsche Tests.
