These are for 'Anaglyph 3D'. You Tube has a number of samples of anaglyph 3D. Anaglyph 3D video is typically shot with 2 cameras side by side. The output of the 2 cameras are then filtered and merged. The biggest advantage of anaglyph 3D is you don't need a special TV projector or monitor to see anaglyph video in 3D.

I'm sure it has something to do with how the movies are filmed in 3d. They use multiple cameras to stack the image you're looking at. Not the red/blue style that some games and photos do.
