Nice visual documentation of a bygone era.
I didn’t know the dimensions of this hardcover book as I was shopping for a gift box. Unfortunately I didn’t realize the dimensions were already included with the add. Anyway, I hope these photos help somebody out there.

Thank Goodness Shabazz Was There!
I love this book and have returned to it again and again. Why? This was my era. Oh, to see my generation young and cool! The trust his subjects had in letting him photograph them, their openness...I am no guru of fine photography, but I have enjoyed studying each picture, thinking about these people who are now grandparents, even great-grandparents, if they are still alive. My adult children found the photos interesting and mildly amusing, like my "big hair" photos. Highly recommend.

Every Hip-Hop Fan’s Coffee Table Staple
The photographs in this book provide the reaffirmation and fact that Hip-Hop is an overarching style: dress, swagger, the MC, the DJ and its ability to transcend stereotypes. Great, great buy. Even better book.

Memory lane
Captures life in NYC in the 80’s perfectly.Amazing photography of an era that you had to experience to really understand. Highly recommend if you want to see the power of influence and the diaspora. Would love to have it signed!

Fashion gods.
I love the style of the folks in this book, "unintentional coolness" on a higher level, u can see a similar vibe in the books that feature Jamaican dancehall stars of the early 80ies. The sense of style and fashion these guys showcase is one that big clothing budgets wont get you.Also, mr. Shabazz has an keen eye like few. went to his exhibit in Harlem a few years which was very nice but his books give u an volume of photos that cant be beat. High quality all the way.

Great photo chronology of Street and Hip Hop culture by one of the great Photographers of the culture Jamel Shabazz. Our kids should know about this history.
