Pearl 10 Bar Wall Mount Electric Towel Warmer Finish: Bright Stainless

Myson Pearl 10 Bar heated towel rack
First Impressions: WOW, 6 Stars! :-)Item was WELL packaged and protected. Box was taped AND strapped. Custom molded rubber-ish corner pieces and Styrofoam cradled the item in the center of a nice, heavy duty, cardboard box.Item is built out of solid feeling, thin walled steel (I think stainless steel) tubing. The side rails are round (tube) and twice the diameter as the 10 cross bars/heated rungs (also round tubing). Unit has a nice shinny finish (appears to be buff polished stainless) that appears to be durable (NOT painted on). The four mounting stand-offs are also polished steel tubing and are the same diameter as the side rails. Thus the mounts match the unit perfectly.. It feels very solid and "heavy" as I hold it in my hands. Also has a nice, heavy duty, flexible white rubber, spiral/springy power cord. Even as a "non-heated" rack it is very stylish and attractive. Compliments my bathroom décor PERFECTLY. So far VERY pleased, will update this review once it is installed and plugged in...Install:Mounting to the wall is quick and simple. Install the mounting "feet"/stand-offs to the rack, place it on the wall and draw around each mounting stand-off. This gives you four circles on the wall. The instructions say to drill a hole in the center of each circle, but doesn't offer any guidance on how to locate the center. You can find center by placing a mounting pad in each marked circle (same size as the circle) and push the screw in the middle to make a "dent" in the wall.Operation:Heats up quickly and makes the inner surface of the towel "warm" inside of an hour. The only way to make a towel HOT "through and through" is with (penetrating) steam. So the heating elements make the towel warm and dry it out in an hour or two, beyond that you are "wasting" energy. The heating rungs get pretty warm uncovered in free air - but not hot enough to burn my hands so long as I don't squeeze and hold on. *HOWEVER* towel(s) hung over the rungs trap a LOT of heat IN! If left on 6 hours with towel(s) hanging over it; the rungs get *VERY* hot. Hot enough to burn you in a second from just a light touch. After 6 hours the underside of the towel is very warm and the outer surface is luke warm. After 6 hours the inner surface of the towel also begins to "smell hot".So I have mine on a little plug-in timer. It has a 7 day program and I set it to come on in the mornings 1 1/2 hours before I get up and shower. The timer then keeps it on for three hours to give the towel time to dry after my shower. I also have it set to come on for three hours in the late evening (bed time) for my trip to the hot tub. Doing this, the rungs aren't on long enough to get really hot, but I still get a warm towel that dries out quickly when I'm through with it. The unit should also last longer this way, because you not "cooking" your heating elements 24/7.Conclusion:I still give it 5 stars because it does its job well. Most of the other units in this price range are only 60 watts. The Myson 10 rail Pearl unit is 180 watts - that's THREE times the power! Being an EE; helped me recognize this and adjust my use accordingly. I recommend you do the same. You'll save energy, extend the life of your unit, and be kinder to your towels. Thus as a point of reference, I wouldn't leave it on for more than four hours at a time. Even though it's designed to be left on 24/7, I think most folks will be happier with the timer/timed operation as suggested above.Enjoy!

Destroyiing my towels!
I ordered this towel warmer for our new home. It took a while for us to move in and get it in place. Now that we are starting to use it I'm finding scorch marks on my towels!! Some of the reviews indicated it was hot, but scorch marks? These are 100% cotton towels too.Going to try to work with Amazon to try to return it.

Good while warranty lasts...
I've owned this product for a little more than two years. It was working well until about 22 months into a 24 month warranty when it suddenly stopped warming and does not work ever since...

Beautiful towel warmer but too darn hot!
This is the third towel warmer we've owned and although we love the looks of this one, the fact that it is so hot is definitely a minus. This is the only reason why I gave it 4 stars. We had to go out and spend $15 on a timer that would accommodate the plug. This is the way to control the time the heat is on so as not to scorch the towels! Other than that, it gives the bathroom a modern, great design element and it's wonderful to have warm towels at the ready, after your shower!

Everyone should have a towel warmer
This towel warmer works perfectly and I think it's a great product. Towels are nice and warm. The aesthetic is simple and modern. We ordered the Pearl 10 bar "bright stainless" which is a chrome finish. Our bathroom is about 5' x 8' with a standard 8' ceiling. It actually warms the whole bathroom if the door is kept closed. Be careful - those horizontal bars become very hot to the touch! (the vertical bars are warm too, but I've noticed don't get quite as hot as the horizontal bars) This is how it makes those towels toasty. I would highly recommend this product. For the price, a towel warmer is actually a luxury many people can afford - wish I had thought to buy one sooner. We turn it on after showering to dry the towels out quickly (leaving it on all night long) and before showering for a warm toasty towel reward. It heats up fast, 15-30 minutes should be more than enough to get the towel warm, 1 hour and it's at max towel warmth. Putting a timer on it is the best idea. I haven't had it long enough to see the post-warmer electric bill but I suspect there will be little change. I think it's equivalent to having a 60 watt light bulb turned on, but don't quote me on that ;)15 Month Update - spring in power switch went out and I can't turn it on, it just won't press down. It's within the 2 year warranty, so I've contacted Amazon to fix it but I really hope this doesn't happen outside of my two year warranty. I love this towel warmer and I already miss it. We had it on a timer, so we very rarely ever used the switch over the past year - doesn't seem like a switch should go out so soon especially when it didn't even get much use. Now I can't flip the switch to the 'on' position, so not even the timer can control it for us now.Contacted Wayfair, the seller, through Amazon and they responded immediately that they would ship a new one. It indeed arrived about a week later. Excellent, excellent customer service. They've left me speechless!

Junk
Very disappointed...Didn't work. Should've known the way it arrived...box crushed. Had a note inside from a previous buyer who also returned it, saying this product was a piece of junk! Returned it for refund :(
