Accurate and easy to use
I bought this range finder purely for golf and I must say I have been very impressed. I read reviews on a number of range finders including very expensive ones before finally deciding to go for the Suaoki, I figured that I wasn't going to be risking a huge investment to find out if it was useful for my game. The Suaoki is easy to use and picks up the pins quickly, the scan mode is very good. I have tested the accuracy on the range with known targets as well as comparing to more expensive range finders on the golf course, it is very accurate. I wear glasses so being able to focus the eye piece was important for me, it works very well and the view is crystal clear.

Great budget range finder....... yes there's better at 4x the price but are they 4x better?
Had this out on the golf course a couple of times and impressed with the performance, especially considering the price point. I haven't done a rigorous accuracy test versus another range finder but compared to the course distance markers and versus a friends GPS the distances added up. Within 200 yds the distance takes seconds to measure and it's straight forward. I've read some reviews where the purchaser had difficulty getting the flagstick, if you've got an unsteady grip I can see why, but if you seek the flag and scan around the flag it seems to do the job.Beyond about 200 yds I couldn't always get the flagstick, instead I'd pick up something in the background. I tried to measure a flag about ~345 yds away (distance tee to green) and it measured ~370 yds - this would have been earth beyond the green so it made sense. Also it easily measured thicker objects like trees trunks from >250 yds so plenty good enough to help my club selection. I haven't tested all the functions so not sure how accurate the slope function is but it's on there if you need it.In terms of design it fits nicely in your hand, it's light weight but not so much that it feels fragile and the digital display is easily readable against the background (not done in bright sunlight only against autumn colours of parkland course!). It's not perfect, you need a jewellers screwdriver to fit the battery and the instructions are basic at best but at this price point these are inconveniences you get over quickly. It's worth a punt, it may not have the stabilisation gizmos but it's very usable and you can save over a £200 compared to a branded range finder leaving enough money to play a bucket list golf course instead!

Really impressive Rangefinder and more
I wanted a device that was capable of measuring distances on the golf course and for speed monitoring. I avoided the Suaoki as it was an unknown brand and at the lower end of the price scale, instead opting for a German instrument costing £150. Sadly, this more expensive item was very difficult to use, and on testing I found it had poor repeatability. On the other hand, the Suaoki has proved excellent. There are a number of modes, the golf one having a flagstick scan feature which reduces the need to hold perfectly still. This also assists in the speed mode, which can be set to MPH or KPH. Changing batteries is a little complicated, as the compartment is secured with 2 very small screws, but the battery life seems very good, and I have not replaced one yet after frequent use over about 1 month. The Suaoki is very compact, and works well in all but low light or misty conditions, this limitation probably being due to the size of the laser. In all, I found the device excellent, and a really good buy, which as well as being fully functional, is a pleasure to use.

You get what you pay for...
It's a very practical, easy to use range finder. When I used it, I couldn't fault it in any way. It was always accurate, small and didn't weight a lot and of course at a bargain price BUT it's not very durable. The one I purchased didn't last more than 6 months. My golf bag doesn't get knocked around and go through any more wear and tear than the standard golfer (out and back into my car once a week) and I always get the this rangefinder in bag in a dedicated compartment and then all of a sudden it just gave up followed shortly by a rattle somewhere inside. Also, it doesn't use standard rangefinder batteries, it uses normal AA batteries so if you run flat, it's unlikely your local pro shop will be able to sell you replacement batteries. If you want a cheap rangefinder that you will be super careful with and pay extra attention in looking after it, this is the one for you...if you want a durable rangefinder that will give you a good lifespan - this ain't it.

Top value for money
What an excellent product and great value for money.Like any range finder it takes a little practice to use. I read the manual at home and then after a few holes I had the hang of it and it was giving consistent readings against my sat nav and a much higher priced unit. Love the uphill and downhill mode. Its other features are also very useful such as height measurement and speed readings if you might need them.Very impressed.

Poor quality poor service
Getting the gadget to dwell on the target and getting an accurate reading is not easy and can take multiple attempts before a reading is presented which seems vaguely in the ball park. Yesterday I tried to measure the distance into our 9th green and got readings of 117, 124, 147 and 268 yards. I use Sky Golf on my phone which gives a distance by satellite to the middle of the green which was 119 yards. I had hoped to use this device to get accurate measurements to the pin but it is too random to give high confidence, and you can't spend 5 minutes over every shot (unless you're JB Holmes). The tiny rubber inserts on the operating buttons popped when getting it out of it’s case and disappeared in the grass. Tried contacting seller but no response- Don’t bother...

The Buttons come off
For the price it's a bargain, it probably isn't quite as accurate, consistent or fast to lock as say a Bushnell but it does give you your distance. It's good enough. Unfortunately the buttons just pop out. Especially as the case is a tight fit just pulling it in and out it constantly presses on the buttons, changes the settings and pops them off; eventually you lose one and can't use it.
