Just buy this one
I was fixing a friend’s bike where the end of the brake noodle failed (see picture). It looked like it was made from cheap aluminum. I debated getting one of the numerous cheap ones on Amazon, but decided to pony up for the Avid. Glad I did, it’s a solid piece of what looks to be stainless steel, including the end. No doubt this will hold up. The extra piece of mind was worth a few extra bucks.

Works fine, but is not 100% what is pictured.
The overcoat part of the item I received is much smaller than the one pictured. The noodle itself is identical to the picture. The item works well, so no complaints, it's just different from the picture. It was still in an Avid bag and sealed, so probably just a newer version. Picture should be updated to match the product.

Original Avid parts.
It's a new Avid V-brake part. It has grease in the inner plastic sleeve for installation. The picture has been updated to what you will actually receive; a noodle with a small rubber overcoat. I like this design much more than the long rubber sleeves. Those tend to rip apart on my bikes.

Best noodle made.
These are the best brake noodles I've found (and I've used a lot) and prefer them even over the Shimanos. I really like the mini rubber boot.
