Q: Has anyone used this with bassinet?

The Carseat Canopy is 42" x 30" (107cm x 76cm) with two straps, each with two snap buttons, that secure the cover to the car seat handle. If your bassinet is a similar size and has a handle where the carseat canopy can be safely secured without any risk, then it may be possible to use it.

The fasteners hold the muslin cloth in place on the carseat. If you want to use it as a nursing cover, place it over yourself like a muslin swaddle blanket.

Q: would you recommend using this during winter?

Hello Erika! It really depends on the climate that you live in. The fabric is composed of a double layer of muslin gauze (so very similar to baby swaddle blankets). Therefore, it is not meant to keep your baby warm in colder weather, nor is it waterproof, and the canopy isn't fixed to the edges of the car seat so it can blow open at the sides if there is more than a light breeze.
