I swear by Medify Air. I live in Southern California where we have fire smoke every season. My family members got together a few years ago and bought me one of the expensive large units for my house. I love it so much I decided to buy these medium sized ones for my bedrooms. They appear to be working well so far. And, I do like that they have the UV light for germ kill. But, I cannot give full stars because they are very loud. Even on the “Sleep” mode, you’d think the device would be quieter but it isn’t. It has one noise level and it’s obnoxious! This is not the case with my older, larger unit so I am disappointed. I really thought that these devices would be the same caliber of my larger unit. Not great for a bedroom. Honestly, they are probably ok for people who want to run them once in awhile for short periods of time. But, for people who live in fire smoke all the time and want to run them frequently, you might look into a quieter brand.

The MA-40 UV is well constructed and easy to use. It has the desirable UV light feature although I believe it only operates for a set time and then goes off. It is advertised as having 4 speeds but I only found 3 speeds, the sleep mode is the same as the minimum fan setting. The unit is quite loud even on the lowest fan setting, that being said the noise is "white noise" so it probably will not keep one awake but you sure notice it in the day time. I bought the (2) MA-40-UV online so I learned about them after I bought them. I returned them and bought the MA-50-UV which is discontinued as new old stock from eBay and I prefer them as they are powerful but much quieter as they are of a different design. I would have bough the new model MA-50 V3, but they don't offer the UV light feature that I desire. I do not know if the new MA-50 V3 is the same otherwise as the original MA-50 / MA-50 UV.

Just unpacked the 2 units of MA-40UV air purifiers Packed very well , very sturdy unit wow. Only started on low speed and it becomes soothing white noise, easy to hearTV . But I have 2 unanswered questions ; 1) no explanation about why UV mode runs only 20 minutes then turns off or advice on how often it should be turned on or in what environments a person might chose to use the UV light more or less frequently2) no discussion on why or why not a person might want to have the ionizer function on or off

We are very happy with these air purifers We bought two of them. They make the air smell so fresh and clean! They are attractive and the white noise they produce is relaxing and pleasant. We highly recommend this brand of air purifer. The boxes arrived safe and in good condition. We have had these for two months now and run them 24/7. We are a home with inside dogs and a husband that enjoys yard projects and tracks in dust and dirt, yet these air purifers keep the house smelling fresh at all times! Excellent product and good seller!

I don’t really notice a lot of the dust in the air being filtered, odors don’t get absorbed as I was hoping they would, they are a little on the loud side. I would have taken them back but I already discarded the boxes. Can’t say I’m too impressed but these are my first purifiers so maybe my expectations were too high. Customer service is great though. One of ours was rattling and they were very attentive and helpful.
