Microbe

This textbook is hands down the worst. It tries to be different in that it takes information that is arcane to most coming into a upper division microbiology class and makes it “less didactic.” It fails horribly. It is incredibly difficult to follow the authors flow of information. The writing style is trite. The information is presented poorly. I’m using another micro textbook alongside this one. To say the least, I’m gleaning much more information from the other textbook, because it is written in a familiar way...the way that all didactic textbooks should be written. I hate this book.

The retailer and shipping/handling aspect of this experience deserves5 stars but let me just say this book is terrible. Chapters 6 and 7 are riddled with typos and errors and alot of information is outdated. I wouldn't by this book unless your professor requires it

Bought for class and did not keep

Rented this for a class, and it’s definitely the more affordable option. It came in on time and the quality of the book is nice, it’s obviously not new, but none of the pages seem to be torn or written over!

As a biology major, most text books are dry and dull. When I got this book and flipped through it I was like "omigosh the print is larger and there's pictures! YAY!" The writing style makes difficult topics much easier to understand.To be honest, my teachers tests were 90% lecture based so it didn't help in that aspect but that's her fault.I enjoyed reading this book as much as reading a text book for school could be enjoyed.

I liked this book! I used it for my microbiology class for summer. It was in great condition.

It is a great book, it’s an easy read

This book was unique of the kind and the order was delivered to me at the fixed date correct.The book brings out a lot of new information pertaining to microbiology, the way in which the topics were discussed were simply superb, which may be lacking in any good book, its worth reading for any microbiologist, the writing style is lucid and succinct
