About the UU240R - Hitachi Rolling Heavy Duty Stand:
About the UU240R - Hitachi Rolling Heavy Duty Stand: Overall I like it. It makes a big difference in moving around the large and heavy Hitachi sliding miter saw that I own. Almost a necessity. I considered this stand, Dewalt and Delta. The Good: This stand seems very sturdy, it looks great, storage with the saw attached is wonderful, and it is very functional. It's like having a helper available. You'll have to have a footprint for it available, but the convenience is well worth it. The saw was packaged very well in the box - no damaged or scratched parts.Shortcomings: Assembly took a little while. I had to remove the bumpers, which were put on in step one, in order to get proper alignment in the very next step. I ended up putting the bumpers on at the very end. Otherwise, the assembly was fine. Hitachi packages the fasteners in groups for each particular step, making the assembly straightforward. The saw does seem to be biased forward on the stand. I plan to remedy this by drilling 2 of my own holes. In it's current configuration it is fine, but my preference is to move it back a few inches, making the stops a little more useful.I was aware of these shortcomings thanks to other reviews - thank you for sharing. I decided to go with the matching Hitachi stand to avoid fitment concerns with the saw's bolt pattern. I assumed Hitachi planned for that, and it seemed to work out. The rolling stand is the way to go in my view. It's very stable and handles the big sliding miter saw with little effort. The fact that the saw can remain affixed is a really nice feature.

This stand is very cool, works well "but" the instructions are terrible. I mean you can figure it out,(I did) but the company needs to seriously revise them. In my opinion there are many parts that can be assembled by the factory without burdening the consumer. You have to be good at extrapolating the pictures, lots of nuts & bolts...is it worth it, YES!Its one cool stand, just be prepared to sped 1or 2 hours on assembly.

Durability issue.
I have the 12" Hitachi double bevel sliding saw. The support brackets for this unit will bend from the weight.

This stand seems to function fine, but I wish it was more compact
This stand seems to function fine, but I wish it was more compact. I bought it hoping that it would allow me to store my saw in a smaller footprint than it was before. Instead, the stand and saw now take up more room since the stand isn't really suited to be folded up while the saw is installed on it. Unfolding the stand when a heavy saw is quite a bit more difficult than it should be, in my opinion. You have to basically stand on one foot and use your other foot to try to latch onto the axle of the wheels and pull them toward you.

First time I tried to tighten the knob on the tube support assembly the welded on nut just popped off. I agree with other reviewers that he quality seems to be lacking for such an expensive tool.
